tonyaltn
HELP !!!!!!! ......Yesterday I tried to install OBSE and failed big time....now my character has Munk hair ( ring of hair and bald in the middle ), showing 2 eyes in each eye socket and crashes when I try to open race menu in console to fix my hair.Sooo...I uninstalled OBSE and put everything back to original but its still happening! So I started a new game with the exact same mods and character and everything is perfect. I uninstalled and did fresh reinstall so both characters are EXACTLY the same, but again....when I run the game save, Munk hair, 4 eyes, and crash when trying to open the race menu. So is there still some info being held inside the gamesave file that I need to edit or am I just screwed ? I just finished the main quest, just finished Knights of the Nine, and a few other side quests and HATE the thought of having to start over again. Any help would be appreciated...thanks! LFact
This is not the fault of OBSE. When you install OBSE, all you have to do is, put .dll and .exe files into your game directory. And it doesn't do anything unless you launched the game via OBSE_loader.exe. Post your mod load order here. Looks like you changed your cosmetic mod, and try to open previous save without fixing it. **Googly eyes, by your discription, looks like 'Elaborate Eye textures on vanilla eye meshes'. tonyaltn
Yes...I forgot I also installed Common Oblivion - Cobl. It was needed for a mod I was going to install, and I installed the cosmetic pack for it also. As of now I am only running Beautiful People with Soya hair and new face taxtures. Beautiful People replaces default eye meshes and textures with Elaborate Eye meshes and textures. So, you have to install all meshes/textures included properly.(Also, it requires Shivering Isles) And all hair/eye addons and cosmetic mods are changing same 'RACE' record, so they will conflict each other, making none of them work unless the last loaded one gets priority as usual.- Point: Do not install and use two or more cosmetic mod at once. You can download and install COBL cosmetic pack(hairs are OK, but do not install eyes), but if you already install BP, do not try to use COBL Races with it.(Looks like you need to install BP again)
bben46
The problems you describe are not OBSE problems, but cosmetic mod problems. If you had a cosmetic mod that needed OBSE before, and it was not running because of no OBSE, then when you installed OBSE it started working. Keep the OBSE, ditch the multiple cosmetic mods - they tend to cause problems. especially Beautiful people when used with other cosmetic mods. Pick one. OBSE does not change anything. It only allows mods to make changes that cannot be implemented in the original game.
tonyaltn
I needed OBSE for the room mod and COBL to run the storage the auto sorters in the room...I only added the cosmetic as an extra not realizing it would mess up my character. But now I have nothing installed that requires OBSE or COBL, only the mods I originaly started with, so I was hoping things would return to normal but they didnt with my save game. Beautiful PeopleSoya Hair 4 packOblivion .esmKnights .espDLCShiveringIsles .esp ( These are what I originaly started with before installing OBSE or COBL....and these are what I have now, I put my character back to "before" the OBSE and COBL mods ) After reinstalling Oblivion I reinstalled the above mods so put me back exactly the way I was before installing OBSE or COBL.I can continue game play just fine, I just have to be bald with googly eyes...and I cant get into the "showracemenu"because it crashes. I can create the exact same character with the exact same mods by starting a new game....and I have my hair, eyes, and the console works fine. My new game and the one the old one have the same mods, same clothes, same everything but only the new game works.....the new one is an exact duplicate of the other. It was the cosmetic addon that I used that messed me up, so now that it is gone why wont I return to normal ? This is my new game...with the exact same mods as the other and it works fine, I can open the race menu and change hair, whatever I want to do. I guess I will just continue with my new game...since its a duplicate, same clothing, hair, skin, eyes, everything so I still have my original character, just with alot of work to redo, lol. But there were alot of fun adventures I wouldnt mind doing again I guess...all of the Oblivion gates to close, the arena fights, all of the Crusaders relics to gather again...AHHH !!!! LFact
get rid of beautiful people.it is an outdated mod and causes tons of problems including those you've described. Unless you know what you're doing. I'd rather ditch both plugin(BP and Soya's), keep meshes and textures, and install more with mine....... if you want to keep using BP. **COBL Races is based on older version of Race Balancing Project, which overhauls such as birthsigns and racial abilities. I do not recommend it for first-time player, until you feel something's not right about vanilla races.
