prolovegirl
I downloaded a mod yesterday and I wanted to endorse it because it helps a *lot*! But today when I tried to endorse it, an error message said "You cannot endorse this file because you have not downloaded it!" WTF?? I downloaded it just yesterday! So I downloaded it again - it's tiny and it downloads in a flash. But then I got an error message saying "You can't endorse this file. It's too soon after you downloaded it!" Argh! Tes Nexus you are *frustrating*! :wallbash:
Yamcakes
Were you logged into your account the first time you downloaded it?
Retribution
That's likely the problem, since it was a small file, you could download it while not logged in.
prolovegirl
That's likely the problem, since it was a small file, you could download it while not logged in. I can't remember now, perhaps that was the problem. Could Tes Nexus possibly realize that no-one in her right mind would endorse a file *without* downloading it and trying it out? Nexus Set
Could Tes Nexus possibly realize that no-one in her right mind would endorse a file *without* downloading it and trying it out? The precaution was taken because it has happened a lot before. There's also a 3 hour delay implemented before a person can endorse a mod after downloading. That would be the "it's too soon" message. Sarya
prolovegirl, that actually is not true, a lot of people threw around ratings without even downloading a file - and mostly trash ratings. That's the reason behind this system. Additionally it prevents good ratings for files with bugs and errors, so you notice them before rushing in and giving a ten solely based on pictures. If it's such a small file and you really want to rate it, then you may download it again, while being logged in.
bben46
I can't remember now, perhaps that was the problem. Could Tes Nexus possibly realize that no-one in her right mind would endorse a file *without* downloading it and trying it out? Pro-Love Girl The reason for requiring a download, and a delay before endorsement was precisely that - far too many people were rating without bothering to either download or play a mod based on a description or the picture. Even people who did not play the game rated mods. And, if they did not like the concept of the mod, would rate it down. Yes, we have fewer ratings now, but most are honest ratings by people who have at least downloaded and probably played the mod. If you liked a mod please take the time to endorse it and leave a comment to let the author know they are appreciated.

So it's not really TesNexus fault, it's the fault of the people who rate a mod without downloading it and trying it out! I couldn't believe that there are that many stupid people around... but I guess there are! Thanks for straightening me out. Pro-Love Girl

Nexus Set
As Einstein would have said it, "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." Well, that sure is plenty of stupidity to go around. :bunny:
