ecksile
Quick question can you change the way weapons are holstered, i.e. the actual position and angle so instead of the gun crossing your back diagonally it goes up and down or straight across. For example like this picture. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n298/outlaw_027/kusunagi/R6Vegas2_Game2009-08-1703-12-49-06.jpg. I know in oblivion they had a mod where 1handed weapons and shields could be holstered on back when unequipped but it was through OBSE. Im thinking of moving the weapons around but im not sure what controls it? Is it the Weapon Mesh? Skeleton? Holster Animation? FOSE? If it is possible to move the positioning could i make it so that depending on the length of weapon/equip type it would be equipped in different spots. For example assault rifles/sniper rifles equipped on back like the picture but smgs equip on the stomach of the player or even make it so that if a person has a certain holster equipped it would be placed at that holsters location. i.e. if your holster is on your side it will be placed at your side but if your holster is on your ankle or something it will be placed at your ankle. I realize new animations will be necessary. One more quick question. The chameleon effect how do i access it? Im trying to edit the texture for the effect but all i can find is the stealth boy effect which isn't the actual chameleon effect its just a reference to use the chameleon effect. ****EDIT just came across this http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7531 gonna look into it. scott913
Would be neat if you could assign each hot key a holster position (1 back left, 2 back right, 3 holster left, 4 Holster Right then Repeat that and let 9 be a AID/Misc thing) Not sure what that would require exactly but it would be pretty neat ^^. D_V_A
but then where would the hotkeys for weapons and stuff from the pip-boy be?
scott913
You just wouldn't have em'. That or set them to a button like shift - 1 etc etc. You lose normal hotkeys for the greater good of looking like a bad ass :P.
D_V_A
I'm a bad ass without the flashy gear... cuz all that fly poo is *hitting a high note* insiiiiide of meeeeeeee (Joe Budden reference :) )but yeah, do whatever u want, it's your mod... I'll just stick to vanilla on this one ;) and the occasional red-eye/cyber mask/geonox alien skin hahaha good luck
scott913
My mod is in my sig :P. Anywho'm I am just learning GECK at the moment so I would have no idea how to do this. I'm sure the suggestion has been made before though so if any other modder wants a crack at it please do so :D.
obfuscate
Yes the position can be changed, via the animation. Kenkuro has done so here. Swapping the animation around on the fly? Probably not even a good idea, given how the game engine chokes on certain things.
ecksile
@ scott913 that first idea was how i was gonna make it work but instead each hot-key is for a certain weapon. for example the sword would be 1 pistol would be 2 smg would be 3 assault rifle would be 4 sniper rifle 5 and the last 3 for nades HE/FALSH/Pulse. The script checks for the weapon binded to that hot-key and displays it in its respectable slot if there is a weapon binded, or i would just make it so the first 3 weapons in your hot-keys are looked up and displayed. @obfuscate That mod is only a holster there are no animation changes or weapon position changes in it i have already downloaded it. As for swapping the animation on the fly Im not sure what you mean by that. i would simply change all the equip animations for that respected type of weapon to use the new position for the new weapon positions. i.e. instead of reaching over the right shoulder for all your guns you would reach over the left for your sniper and over the right for your assault rifle grab your stomach for smgs etc. The game would use my animations instead of the vanilla no swapping on the fly. I was gonna try to get the script that rustreaver used for his mod and change it around since it similar to what i want to do for setups.
scott913
Well even if it was as simple as being able to have a pistol on your leg and a rifle on your back that you could switch to via hotkey. Wouldn't have to change the positions as much as code the ability to have the two weapons out at the same time. So there wouldn't be any new animations needed.
