Ronny1031
I bought fallout 3 less than a week ago, and I get random crashes. Sometimes I'll be able to play for prolonged periods of time, close to an hour, no crashes, and other times I can play for less than five minutes and it will crash. My drivers are up to date, my computer meets its requirements and the settings have been lowered to increase performance and yet nothing seems to fix this problem, I have updated Fallout 3 to 1.7 and yet the problem still persists. My computer is older, but still meets the requirements. My system specs arePentium 4 2.8 GHz processor1 GB RamNvidia GeForce 7600 GS Any suggestions or ideas? I'd love to hear them, thanks all! gsmanners
2 GBs of RAM if you afford it will improve things tremendously. Also, have you tried FOSE? That helped make the game more stable for me. http://fose.silverlock.org/
ZombieUK
Could be the Ram or the Nvidia Card not up to Specs... when i first Started out playing Fallout, I had 1GB and a 6800 Nividia card, was hell to play but upgraded to 9500 GT and 4GB (well the cpu only reconises 3 of the 4GB... tho wish it was 4) Dunno about processor but I have been meaning to look into upgrading but I think that would be the most costly... What is eactly the problem? Gameplay too slowand then crashes say, when you enter a fight or does it just crash when you travel thru the wasteland? Ronny1031
It has crashed while in battle and while travelling through the wasteland. I ran it through the systemrequirementslab test and it meets all requirements, all of my drivers are the latest versions. I'm running it on XP, and more recently, I'll walk a few hundred feet and then next thing you know, I'm back at the desktop. Framerate is fine, the game looks fine, I've even lowered most of the settings in order to make performance faster, and yet it still crashes. I've dowloaded all of the patches inculding the unofficial patches and also FOSE didn't seem to help it. I'm at a loss of any idea of what to do. gsmanners
The game bleeds RAM, so you need a lot of it. It should help most of the time, but you'll still see relapses. Just yesterday it crashed on me 3 times in a 2 hour session, so I still kind of see the game act like that sometimes.
