KiCHo666
Hi!I'm trying to do a separate skeleton for Y-17 Override trauma harness enemy, they are considered to be NPCs in GECK.I've already made the skeleton, but HOW do I make specific NPC use that skeleton?I saw that in GECK I could change skeleton for every creature, but why can't I do it for NPCs?I've also tried making separate body-part data and using it on specific NPCs, but cannot do even that. Does anyone know how to do such things?
MartinPurvis
For custom skeletons for NPC's I think you have to create a new race and in the skeleton data you point to your new skeleton (I'm not on computer but I think that's where it is). If you're feeling confident you could open up FNVEdit, load your mod and go to that NPC's record. I'm sure I seen an option in there for defining the NPC skeleton location, might work. Always remember to make a copy of your mod before editing it in FNVEdit though!
KiCHo666
Thank you for response!Unfortunately, I found out on official GECK page that in GECK you cannot specify which NPC will use which skeleton. They all use default _male/skeleton.nif and even if you change it via FNVEdit, they revert back to default one. I tried that. However, you could do that in Oblivion using Construction Set. You could set custom skeleton for any npc, but in GECK that's not possible.
MartinPurvis
Oh well, it was worth a shot.
luthienanarion
That's correct; separate skeletons for races was a new addition in Skyrim. IIRC, you couldn't even use seperate body meshes for each race in Oblivion.
