Half English Half German

OK, I have MANY mods installed and only recently have I noticed this problem. Random GUI menus are in German as well as way shrine pop ups, while all dialogue, main menu, inventory, are all in English. Ive looked everywhere for how to fix this. I'm sure its just a misplaced file. So if anyone knows which files to change or where I could get the correct one that would be fantastic. Thanks in advance

I work with some German manufactured equipment, all of the manuals are written by Germans who learned their English in school. I call the language in these manuals Germanglish.

Your problem comes from having nstalled a German language version of a mod. Some popular German made mods are only released in German, but most do have either an English patch or a complete English version. Usually ,if you can identify the mod you can go back and check the download site for the English version , then download and install it. That should overwrite most of the German language parts.

If you can find an in game object that is identified in German try this to identify the mod it comes from.

Refscope is a good resource for finding what mod those yellow missing mesh blocks came from. It adds a spell that when cast on the missing mesh identifies it and what mod put it in the game.

The German most likely comes from some of the CM companions (especially those that have DA at the beginning of their name). I am german (but much prefer the original versions of almost anything, so i play Oblivion in proper english ;) I have been hunting down these references using Tes4Edit too. Most annoying was when i had all the vanilla races renamed (rothwardoner???). It is funny for a laugh, but german simply does not work well for a medieval RPG... or for much anything else for that matter (i even played Gothic in the english translation, because the german sounded so pitiful).

Anyway, i know that DAAnastasia has a lot of german in it, but i have more pressing problems with russian, chinese, and japanese popping up (which would be easy if i could read them in game so i knew which mod is the culprit). But usually it is easily fixable in any case. Just use a mod that changes the same things in game in the load order after it (like another CM partner mod with english dialog and such). If it is not a CM in your case (because you mentioned it also happening in the GUI) then your load order would be helpful indeed.
