OddGuy
Oquilerdalin steps behind the others, and readies his fireball. He, too, begins chanting in Daedric, and his eyes and hands begin to glow red.
thanateros
Damian, thrown back from hearing Oquilerdalin chanting turns sharply and stares him down in a non-threatening manner, "WHAT?!?! How is it you know Daedric, I've not known you to be an Oblivion Syphonmage...(repeating) How is it possible?" he turns to look at the centurions but his attention still eminently on Oquilerdalin. "I think you and I have some things to discuss once this is over." <ooc, to be fair in this battle, since there are a plethora of enemies we should all take one to start with then see how many are left....agreed?>
I Am That Is Matthias
Shadow puts his hands into a casting stance. "I've seen guars scarier them you." Shaodw then starts to chant in a strange language a portal starts to open in front of him. he staeps threw and appears behinf a centurion. Without making any noise Shadow pulls out his sword and jabs into the centurions logic proccesing unit.
wesaynothin
OOC: Logic processing unit? A centurion spider? What about it's engine, please.... As a spider approches Avelyn, he shoves his staff under it and lifts up. As the spider goes hurtling upwards, he grabs it and breaks it's legs off. He then kicks the spider back down the hall. "It sucks not using a sword"
Peregrine
Until now, Alenee has barely moved, pike still held ready, point aimed at the approaching spheres. As Shadow makes his move, the spheres hesitate slightly, then begin to unroll to attack the group. As one does this, its path takes it across the point in Alenee's mind. She lunges forward, stabbing the pike precisely on the line between two sections of its armor. There is a clear sound of overstressed metal snapping, then a cloud of steam sprays from somewhere inside it. The sphere collapses lifelessly, all hint of motion gone. As she pulls the pike out of the dead artifact, two other centurions have completed their transformation. Taking advantage of her delay and apparent helplessness, they counterattack, sword arms slashing at her even as they finish extending. With reflexes trained by years of battle, Alenee whips the blunt end of the pike arround, intercepting one strike short of its target. A risky move in the narrow corridor, as proven when the now freed sphere crashes into the wall near Shadow, and her pike point barely misses taking off Oquilerdalin's head. As Alenee swings the spear away from her to finish the parry, the second centurion drops its swing a bit lower, cutting under her defense. The point slashes across her ribs, but from the metal on metal scraping sound, fails to penetrate her armor. An expression of pain flickers across her face, but the lack of other reaction suggests that no real damage has been done. Alenee shifts into a defensive stance, preparing to defend against what looks like the full attention of the surviving centurions, and the battle hits a momentary pause, neither side willing to make the first move. thanateros
Damian, staring into the flaming battle, looks not at all impressed with his counterparts' battle tactics. Crouching down into a pouncing stance he charges in a dashing sprint at the nearest centurion, arms still crossed in front of him, ethereal eyes attached to his arms, their pupils eerily fixed on the centurion. Closing in the centurion extends its arm, aiming it at Damians' head. Gears turning within a spear sized spike launches from its side. As it cuts the air towards him Damian chants several command like words and the eye attached to his right arm whirls off and greets the incoming spike. Purple water ripples, where the point of the spike touches it, fills the eye and then permeates out, engulfing the spike and shattering it to pieces. Standing erect, his arms at his sides, he raises his left arm in front of his face, chanting several more commands, the detached eye dissipates and reforms on his right arm. The left eyes' pupil begins to grow larger until it almost fills the whole of it up. In the center a small pitch black sphere begins to form, with a ever so light deep purple glow surrounding it. While he stands there the centurion continues to roll towards Damian, flaring its stream vents and moving with remarkable speed. Just as the sphere begins to form the centurion wildly lashes at the mage, only to have its arm greeted with a block by the unattended right eye. Striking with its other arm Damian takes a nasty gash in the stomach, blood begins to pour onto the floor, yet for such a deep wound the mage does not break his concentration, rather he smirks at the sphere and declares, "That was just the ingredent I require." The small sphere unleashes a black tendril, swirving its way through the pool of ever growing blood. Red veins start to travel up the tendril and into the sphere, turning the black into blood red. Pausing for a moment to try and understand what's going on, the sphere rolls back several feet...sensing the mortal wounds of the intruder. The blood soaked sphere begins to whirl rapidly, stirring the blood within to a spiral of liquid and void. Barking another command, the unattended eye manuevers across his body and settles over the large gash, "That'll do for now," he says respectfully. Raising his left hand and placing in its palm the sphere he drives it into his forehead. It swirls widely as blood and blackness trickle across his body. The centurion, now realizing its foe isn't going to be felled yet flares its vents, releasing more steam into the air and charges. Damian, practically helpless to thwart the attack stands static, almost welcoming the machine. As it raises its arms, only inches from the mage an earsplitting tear fills the area. Stretching himself like a blanket Damian expands himself and wraps the whole of his body completely around the machine. The machine struggles with all of its strength but cannot break the puddy like blanket wrapped around itself. Soon after the stuggling begins to cease, and the malformed Damian (you can still see his face and extremities in this morbid goo BTW) starts to shrink into a suspended sphere, the one he had formed only moments before. But now it held him and the centurion. Floating in mid air it darts in a blaze down the corridor next to Shadow. Immeadiately the sphere explodes into the form of Damian, seemingly free of any wounds he might have sustained. There is no sign of the centurion, it seems to have been sucked into some unknown abyss. "So if this is all that this challenge is to give us then maybe I should use less extreme methods," he nods in the direction of the remaining centurions and smiles confidently. wesaynothin
Avelyn watches the battle in amused interest. After Damian unleahes his attack, Avelyn smiles at a joke he just thought of and walks on, without even caring to look behind him to see if everyone is following. thanateros
Damian, seemingly dissappointed in the challenge of the fight amussedly walks up to one of the centurions whose focus is on Alenee. Without even making much of n effort his raises one palm, which starts to emit a white sphere with a dark blue aura, and places it on the centurions' shoulder piece. Darts of lightning dance across the vunerable sphere as it convulses rigidly and begins to smoke profusely. Damian amused by this for some odd reason starts to laugh in the most inappropriate manner, almost consumed by the lack of skill needed to disable the ancient scraps of metal. Yawning loudly he declare, "you all can have the rest you yourselves...I am tired of this and it seems one of our companions is a little distracted right now." wesaynothin
OOC: According to my interpretation of Peregines post, they turned into one sphere centurion, and you killed that sphere. If I am wrong, I take back what I did.
Peregrine
ooc: its 7 sphere centurions, some of which are dead now. Although since you said earlier you'd gone off a different way.... it still makes sense. You can still do exactly what you've written without any contradiction. As thanateros said, nothing's keeping you from walking off mid battle!
