Mod Install Help

So, I got fallout NV on my mac, and used some finagling with some programs to get it to work. this is just background, as the contents of the game are exactly the same.
However, this does mean that I cannot use mod managers or steam.
I want to install mods for the game, but don't know how to manually activate them.
I put the meshes and the textures and the files in the right places, but I could not find where to activate them. I know in skyrim, there is a file labeled plugins.txt where you can type in the mod bsa and esp to activate them, but I cannot find an equivalent for NV. If someone could point it out for me, or tell me how to install it, that would be great. And, as I said before, the contents of the game when shown are not changed, so what worked for you will work for me. If someone could help me, I'd appreciate it.

If you got NV from Amazon it's still a steam game, You need steam to activate it. How did you bypass the steam activation?

Edit: I will help you get things running on your mac but I will not help a Pirate because that could get me banned on this site. Been there done that and don't want to do it again.

Hmmmm! I installed steam in Crossover. (the comercial version of Wine) installed the game through steam. (I also have a bootcamp partition that I was using for games.) Seems to me you would still have to activate the game through steam, And when I installed FNV for the first time it made me create a steam account. Possibly you did this and didn't really think much of it in your wine bottle.

Not calling you a pirate just want to protect my account. I've been advocating for a sub forum on this site for mac gammers to help each other getting there games running.

Ok.

Is it relevant that I was given the disk and didn't download it?

also, I can't figure out tech stuff so I had one of my school friends do it, so I don't know much.

Alright, here's what I do know:

the program is located in Applications/fallout new vegas/contents/resources/drive_c/program files/bethesda softworks/fallout new vegas.

also, while I was there, I clicked show contents, and saw something called steam_api.dll.

so this does have to do with steam, but I don't have it, which is weird.

do you thing I might have gotten a glitched copy or something?

you have a retail disk right? Inside the box is an activation code? If I were you I would download steam for windows and install it into a wine bottle. Then install FNV it will install into the steam bottle. after that modding and mod organizer will be easy to get going.
