Kayvon
I got an issue with NPCs gliding across the floor. They aren't doing their walking animation. A lot of them also seem to be possessed by the devil because when they talk to each other, their heads spin around until they're completely upside down like that upside down face kid in Family Guy. Can anyone help me? :thanks: Load Orader: Fallout3.esmAnchorage.esmThePitt.esmBrokenSteel.esmPointLookout.esmZeta.esmEnhanced Weather - Rain and Snow.esmCALIBR.esmFOOK2 - Main.esmFOOK2 - [DIK] DLC Improvement Kit.esmFOOK2 - [*censored*] World And Neighbourhood Kit.esmMart's Mutant Mod.esmsc_lovers_resource.esmsc_wasteland_pimp.esmCubeExperimental (EN).esmRTS.esmEnhanced Weather - Rain and Snow in Fallout.espEnhanced Weather - Sneak Bonus during Storms.espEnhanced Weather - Weather Sounds in Interiors.espGreenWorld.espFellout-Full.espFellout-Anchorage.espFellout-BrokenSteel.espFellout-pipboylight.espFellout-SOTD.espCALIBRxMerchant.espFOOK2 - Main.espFOOK2 - [DIK] DLC Improvement Kit.espFOOK2 - Mothership Zeta.espFOOK2 - *censored* Map Markers.espFOOK2 - [EVE] Energy Visuals Enhanced.espMart's Mutant Mod.espMart's Mutant Mod - Increased Increased Spawns.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Anchorage.espMart's Mutant Mod - Feral Ghoul Rampage.espMart's Mutant Mod - Natural Selection.espMart's Mutant Mod - Tougher Traders.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC The Pitt.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Point Lookout.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Broken Steel.espProject Beauty.espProject Beauty- Point Lookout.espProject Beauty- Broken Steel.espProject Beauty- MMM Raiders.espsc_blackmailing_silver.espsc_acquiring_mei.espsc_toying_with_angela.espsc_wp_captives.espsc_wp_arefu.espsc_wp_luring_lucy.espsc_saving_nova.espsc_wp_red.espGalaxyNewsRadio20[M].espKillableKidsNormalHealth.espRobCo Certified.espRTS_beta_patch_ 01.espMiniHideout.espBoS_DX.espjapanese_armor_set.espTribal_DX.espWinterizedT51bDX.espOutcast DX.esp3EFdrgplate.espNAPA.espNAPA-Sneak.espRecieveTenpennySuite.espPersona_and_Secret.espWasteland_Seductress.espDIM TYPE3 conversions.esp Total active plugins: 69Total plugins:
mechine
Were you high when it did that? MMM goes at the very bottom in the load order You're MMM order is messed up anyway, put the compatibiliy patches all together Weather also goes last, right before MMM, because we know for sure MMM doesn't change weather at all. Also you either pick FelloutFull.esp or FelloutSOTD.espone is very dark the other is not very darkAlso the depending on the order of enhanced weather an fellouteither one or the other will control the weatherso you might want to load fellout first, then enhanced weather after thatthen MMM, also fellout has a pipboy light that goes before fook
Kayvon
Thanks for the reply. Your advice was helpful, but it didn't solve the issue: http://i422.photobucket.com/albums/pp310/Morboth/Fallout%20bugs/ScreenShot32.jpg It was funny for a while bit now it's just infuriating. I'm just gonna back my saves up and reinstall this mug.

It looks like they have broken necks. If one could create the effect on command, it may be good in a zombie mod.
mechine
The load order stuff is just a starting point. It was pretty obvious as a red flag so you know, rule that out. Could be archive invalidation related. Could be grapics drivers, could be a corupt save game... Could be a conflict with one of those mods Could be a conflict with the new patch an one of those mods It would probably be easy to find as a conflict looking in FO3edit Then again, start a new game an see what happens Re-install isn't a bad idea, only if it was something small an you could fix it without all the work of a new install. Once I download mods I keep the compressed versions in a file, so I don't have to download them again. Shoot use FO3edit to master update your load order. That clears up alot of things as well as the process forces you to fix a few mods that you wouldn't have even knew had a problem, and if you can't fix it, you either ask the person that made the mod to fix or just delete it, an move on. The only mod that really deals with the Npc's is that project beauty one, but you may have othersbecause you can't tell what's in a mod until you open it with FO3edit. You should probably look into unofficial fallout patch too. It fixes alot of stuff that bethesda overlooked. I don't know what would fix spinning heads. LMAO ! Hang in there... Kayvon
Well I went through and unchecked all the mods one by one to find some issue among them. That didn't work, so I went into each mod's page to see if the authors listed any known issues. I found out that FOOK2 is compatible with nothing really. FOIP apparently only works with 1.6. Since I can't find it I decided to toss that aside. I also found out that Project Beauty and MMM overlap on raider modding. PB has a compaibility patch but neither mention anything on the load orders. I'm following Wandik's post to the letter this time around. It's a little difficult since some of the stuff in there is outdated, but I'm grateful that it's still up. I had patch 1.7 so it may have caused the game to screw up since it seems like many mods use the whole fake patch thing. I'll test it out and post my results. EDIT: So I installed all of the DLC, fake patch, the unofficial fo3 patch, fwe, wmk, and mmm for now. Where in the load order should I add weather and envirnment mods like Fellout, Enhanced weather, and greenworld. What about "small mods" such as individual armors, hideouts, individual perks, etc. EDIT2: This whole process did nothing to fix the skating and head flipping problem btw... It's gotta be a graphics card issue.
gsmanners
It's not a graphics card issue. It's just yet another game engine bug. I've seen it happen plenty of times. You just have to quit, restart the game, and hope it doesn't happen again.
Kayvon
...Aww wtf. Is there any way of avoiding this bug effectively (or a patch)? Should I just delete all my saves? Did this happen in Oblivion? This can't be a super common issue since you were the first to point out that this happens. There must be SOMETHING that triggers this. gsmanners
Sure there's a trigger. It's called bad programming. It doesn't happen all the time, I admit. Frankly, you're more likely to see the crashing UFO, but it *can* happen. :wallbash: As far as I know, it only happens for short periods of time, but maybe you're just lucky or maybe there really is some hardware problem. I find the hardware explanation a little hard to accept (given that you're more likely to just see BSODs in that situation).
Kayvon
Well at least I know it can't be helped at the moment. It feels like it could be some hardware problem because you mention how it's not extremely common, yet I get this same problem in 4 reinstallations. Feels a little odd that it keeps happening. I think I'll just ignore it, even though everytime I see it, I rage and kill everyone. In the mean time I got a problem with FWE not working completely. Scanned it for errors in FO3Edit and I got this: Parameter #1 -> Found a NULL reference, expected: GLOB Above errors were found in :CTDA - Condition Above errors were found in :Conditions Above errors were found in :Effect Above errors were found in :Effects Above errors were found in :JunkFood "Junk Food" [ALCH:0003359C] Above errors were found in :GRUP Top "ALCH" Flags -> <Unknown: 29> Above errors were found in :DATA - Data Above errors were found in :T3TBlueFireDamage "Alien Fire Damage" [MGEF:0A0072CA] Above errors were found in :GRUP Top "MGEF" Ghoul "Ghoul" [RACE:00003B3E] -> Missing required members: Default Hair Styles Above errors were found in :GRUP Top "RACE"Above errors were found in :[0A] FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm
