well...I've been with this site for 3 years and I've never gotten any crap mail from you guys and I'm happy that you don't do that. Lots of sites like to sell your e-mail address to spammers and there's where you get all those stupid spams.

I can see why he would complain, as this happens a lot. I get ticked off sometimes when I'm searching for something and I you have to have an account just to look at forum posts! Now that's a bit much.

So, let me summarize my email accounts for you:

1. My ISP-provided email: NEVER USE

2. My Workplace email: I NEVER hand out to anyone that is not directly related to my business.

3. My GMail account: Primarily used for friends, family and contracting.

4. My Hotmail account: Primarily used for subscriptions and passing out to places that require a valid email.

5. My Yahoo account: A backup mail account in case my GMail account goes away (anything's possible)

I think I've got you beat there...

1. ISP-email, which I never use either

2. E-mail provided by college - only there for recieving

3. Hotmail account I use just for personal e-mails, family and stuff

4. Hotmail account I use for handling things related to Vagrant0

5. no-name e-mail account I use for less important things related to Vagrant0

6. no-name e-mail account I use for less important stuff for general use, or to act as a secondary

7. Yahoo account I use for e-mails related to real-life stuff, like jobsites.

8. Yahoo account I use for sites that will just spam me.

9. Gmail account I use for sites owned by 3rd parties to prevent having accounts stolen anywhere.

10. Yahoo account I use for tier2 third party signups.

11. Yahoo account I use for other kinds of spam and signups that I don't ever plan to check back on.

Then there's mailinator, which is good for one-time kinds of stuff.

I had a couple more no-name accounts at one time (like 8), but the provider went down, and didn't have much need to use them. Checking most of them every month (every few days for some) is not nearly as hard as it is trying to keep all the passwords in order without writing down anything anywhere. Have about 20 different sequences with a few subsets for the ones I use most frequently. For those places I don't log into often, it can occasionally be hard to remember what is linked to what, and which password was used. If I could start all over, I would probably adopt a tiered system using a mix of common words and numbers, mixed case, and offset by their position within the tier.

Needless to say, if there was ever any reason why I would need to disclose all the user names, logins, and passwords, even now, they probably wouldn't be able to keep track or make much sense of it.
