Now! I,m happy cause ALL is up to date! and running! at least,it WORKS! :whistling:

But! All of a sudden I get this weird stuff! looking through scope on sniper rifle! a Diamond shape white with a RED "!" comes into view instead of what I,m shooting at! SO! I Reinstalled Fallout 3 cleared out the Saved file! Now that everything is back! I go through the diaper to Manhood thing and am now back in the wasteland,The New DLC,s start poping up left and right! OK!

so I find myself In the fire-ant location! I pull out my trusty Laser pistol and shoot ANT! Screen 80% Diag / goes RED in color sort of and the ANT has the ! over it , after shooting it slowly fades away, later in the church I meet up with the TIN MEN whom have lost a rookie in a building and could I go get him out in one piece,OK said I dreaming of medals (Riiiiiighhhhht) So as we are pounding the SUPER bignuts! I noticed

1 Tin guys seem to be carrying a coffin on their backs instead of a weapon(I think) coffin like with a white bar on each side, like handles!

2 places where dead bignuts have fallen have half a diamond sticking out of the ground with the ! on it.

3 Other banned (kicked out) Tin men Main home in the What was a new building Has a box like area with the ! floating on the second floor!

I have TWO systems! one is a 17" HP Duo 2.12 gig a NV 8600 gt with 512meg memory! runs good! windows Performance 5.0

Have completed game on it without problems!

The other here is a Kick butt system! Quad Phenom II 940 Blackbox 4 gig 1066 meg memory

EAVG GTX 280 with 1 gig ddr-3 3 x 1 tb drives 1 x External 1 x Plextor Sata DVD 1 x Sony BD drive Sata (Blueray)

1 x 22" Envision LCD 1 x Viewsonic VG1930wn 19" and the mini 15" viewsonic LCD VG 150

motherboard is a ASUS M3N78 hybrid SLI board with a 8300 Nvidia onboard! I get a 5.9 in windows Lowest score ,the 280 gets 6.4

this problem started with my Laptop and has spread to my main system, which I had to reinstall EVERYTHING Not too long ago

WHEN BOTH of my new seagate 1 Tb drives slowly died over a week! run forward to March 09! get two NEW ones to install!

Reinstall is FUN aint it! WELL! to Add (screaming and yelling) last week one of the NEW Replacment drives went west,so now me has to reinstall that one! Arggggggggggggg! cost me $21 for shipping 2 day air! WHAT happened to FREE! Shipping! I did not make this drive, they did, pointing to the Dreeb

in the corner over there!> :thanks: :wallbash:

Cheers :thanks: :wallbash:

The problem has nothing ti do with your hardware.

Those red diamonds with exclamation mark inside means missing files

(paticularly the meshes do not load correctly)

That could be a wrong installation, e.g. corrupted data files if you installed fallout via steam.

The latest Patch (1.7) is not installed.

If you installed Fallout into "Program Files": the UAC messed sth up

So, 1st I would try to install the game to another location than "Program Files"

Perform a "Clean reinstall" read the point Reinstalling Fallout 3

Install the latest patches for Fallout and GfWL

If you installed Fallout into "Program Files": the UAC messed sth up NEVER! it is installed with STEAM on another drive!

**********I HATE reinstalling STEAM ************* Takes forever. I NEVER put anything in The "C" files to get munged when Win7 dies!

You get red diamonds with exclamation mark if the meshes file is not working correctly.

That means:

If you don't use Mods or DLCs, then there is only one file which contains Meshes:

Fallout - Meshes.bsa in your Data folder

You should try to find out if the meshes file is some kind of bugged, corrupted, damaged or sth

This might happen, when

  • the installation fails, because the install source medium does not work as supposed (steam)
  • the wrong patch applied (only if you use DLCs)
  • UAC is protecting you (it is a security service that is messing up nerarly everithing if you install the game into Program files and if you use Mods)
  • ArchiveInvalidation fails (only if you use Mods)
  • Other things, I did not think of atm

More information could increase the chances that someone can tell you a fix.

Did you install your game via steam?

GfWL is buggy (of cause^^) and it is causing CTDs etc!

That's why it is a gOod idea to install the latest GfWL Client from >>> here <<< first.

Already tried to run the game in Admin mode?
