thePhilanthropy
Some of you might have seen my WIP videos. Here they are, anyway: Now, I can manage. I can do the animations myself. Eventually. But I'm an absolute n00b. I'm having problems with a lot of things when it comes to animations. So, if anyone is interested, please tell me. I'm not too confident in my own skills here. So, I'd welcome it very much if someone could do the animations for me. Tutorials and generals tipps & tricks are more than welcome too. Thank you! PS: yes, I did everything in those videos myself. But I'm an amateur. I do things the hard way, where it could be so much easier, with a little bit of knowledge. But knowledge is what I lack. exanimis
You make me feel bad. You refer to yourself as an absolute noob but you have accomplished what I have been trying to do for a long time. I still haven't gotten one of my creatures in the game. Your videos are amazing but I'm afraid you will not find much help here. Most modders do not posses the knowledge to animate and those that do can't mod new creatures. Did you make the meshes yourself? Are you using creature skeletons or did you make your own? UK47
what is the problem ? trouble with exporting ? or you simply want to improve your skill ? exanimis, tell me what problem do you get (with your creatures) , and I will try to help you
thePhilanthropy
Short version: Yes, I want to imrove my skills. Long version: Well, yes. I did everything myself (the queen model is inspired by another free 3d model). Everything works technically. I'm having trouble with making the animations themselves. I'd just welcome it if someone here could teach me a trick or two, especially about how oblivion handles animations generally. I only got these animations ingame by imitating vanilla animations. E.g. is it possible to merge animations? Or to animate only parts of the body (animating the arms without breaking the walk-cycle)? I know a little about IK-chains and stuff, but that's about it. I'm not an animator. That's what I meant with n00b. So, every tip is welcome (doesn't need to relate to Oblivion). Thanks! @exanimis: everything is custom. Even the skeletons (+working havok data for the facehugger). SaidenStorm wrote a tutorial regarding custom creatures, which I found very helpful:http://saidenstorm.googlepages.com/oblivio...eaturestutorialSince I know now how it works, you can also ask me. Just pm me and clarify where exactly your problem/s lie/s. If 3ds max is the problem, then I can't help though. But I once saw a tutorial for blender over at the bethsoft forums. But a lot of stuff needs to be done in NifSkope too.

Zombikilla47
The facehugger thing sounds like a good and scary idea...I mean imagine going through a place and then out of nowhere a facehugger comes out...it would get people off-guard the first time!
