Invisible Thalmor Robes

Yep, the bug everyone faces. Before I actually ask which one is conflicting with the robes, I ask another question. Is there a way to change the Thalmor Robe to where it can find the textures and meshes on it's own?

 

Okay, glitch = invisible robes, but not boots.

Not being a smartass, but are you sure the thalmor robe is invisible and not just being removed by some accessory you're equipping?

 

If it's really invisible, you're missing a mesh for it ... which shouldn't happen because the vanilla game has a mesh. Might be a problem with your Skryim install.

I should've probably posted a screenshot to go with it, Ancano's robes were invisible when I met him at the College of Winterhold.

 

I don't exactly know why this is happening, but I know that some other robes had similar issues, but those were fixed by uninstalling some of my mods.

Exactly what do you get in place of the robes?

 

Do you see a big purple diamond shape? Missing mesh.

 

Do you see the robes, but not it's textures? Missing texture

 

Do you just see Ancano in his underwear? Some mod changes his default outfit.

The Vanilla Thalmor robes use the hair/circlet armor add-on so if anything is overwriting this armor addon the equiped item turns invisible as well, that's why there is a priority check in the CK on AA, so i would root out every mod that adds or changes Amulets, Hoods, Circlets, Helmets first, and the use the distinction process to distinct the exact faulty module.

 

In another case it could also be produced by a hi-res texture, i sometimes had the problem of certain armor parts turning invisible or pure black, found out that uncompressed textures which are not stored in DXT1, DXT3 or DXT5 or uncompressed ABGR8 caused the problem, but this problem would not occur all the time but only when loading a savegame in a big area (non interior) where lots of textures are being loaded.

Then in that case, Frostfall or Cloaks of Skyrim might be causing it.

Okay, tried disabling Wet and Cold, and Frostfall, which both enable cloaks. Disabling them did nothing. I have a screenshot now, however. Adding it to the main post.

For those of you who might be watching this thread still, I took the time and did the "Disable a handful of mods at a time, and see what sticks" fix, it was Actualize Apparel (Crafting clothes).
