fatanorexic
A little more info on the nature of the game may be helpful in attracting people. Is it based on the Bethesda engine? If not, then what engine?Single player, group or on line?Type of game RPG, FPS etcEra it takes place in - medieval, Gunpowder, modern, future etc Of course, I would be more than happy to. If I'm going to start with the mechanics of the engine, I would have to say an engine from scratch. The goal here is to set up a Demo and the likes of such wich we would fish to a publisher. From there if they liked it and decided to pick us up, we would start full blown development on the game it self. Without giving away too many details it could revolutionize the industry, or it could be hogs boss. That's the risk right now. We would need to get something set up-to show that it is possible. The game it self is centered around single play, but also has co-op written all over it. This is especially true to the nature of the game play, but also has a strong resonance with the supporting story mechanics. The genre this game falls into is a little decptive to explain. It falls into the RPG catagory, but only becuase of its presentation. Such as side quests, the pacing of the story, and overall look and feel to the game. The game play in a way meshes many genres such as FPS, platforming, stealth play, action/adventure, ect. Now the era in wich this takes place is none. This game is completely based on fantasy. Eras from all across time are smashed together in some areas. Such as the very poor parts of a city could have a medival and rennisance feel to it. While the rich uppety parts of the city could have a futuristic and modern look to them, and show signs from the gothic and victorian eras. This wouldn't be the limiting factor though. Poor parts of town could show signs of advanced and futuristic archetecture, and vice versa. Think of LA and the surrounding countys around it. That kind of gives an example of how diverse it can be. This also applies to all kinds of things, like the weapons in the game. Picture a city/country having car like vehicles, but they havn't figured out how to make automatic guns yet. Such things like that. Again if you want to know more, or if you need to as the case may be; just send a PM. :)

TheTerminator2004
You still havent said what this game is. You're gonna need to give a lot more information if you want people to help you out. I'd be happy to help out with design etc, but you're gonna have to say what game you actually want to make first :P
fatanorexic
You still havent said what this game is. You're gonna need to give a lot more information if you want people to help you out. I'd be happy to help out with design etc, but you're gonna have to say what game you actually want to make first :P Yeah sorry about that. I'm in the gaming media, and I'm used to everything being hush hush. So I'll give it my best shot. You want a general over view, or do you need an extremely in depth post detailing every single aspect to the game? :) Before I start explaining everything, everyone should know what this project is. This is a full blown 3D RPG. Also this would be voluntary until we where picked up. That makes it kind of a monumental task, given that games like that require many developers, who get paid, to make. So in light of that, this would need to be under a publisher in order to front the recourses and staff needed. Unless by some divine miracle I get 150 devs to work voluntarily. I wish we could just waltz on in there with our ideas, but that's not the way it works :(. So in order to raise the chances greatly of getting picked up we would have to create a demo or two showcasing that we could execute that idea. The manner in wich this could be approached varys greatly. We could set up a few playable 2D demos and have 3D video, concept art, ect. Or we could set up a full blown 3D demo(Although that might be quite difficult) or have just the concept itself(Though that might not help anyones case really.) What ever makes your rubber ducky squeek. The basics such as story, gameplay, thechnical advances, how it will compete well in its genre, ect. have all been mapped out, but like every game it's always subject to change by the devs. Remember almost no* game makes it 100% from paper to code. I'm sure most of you already know this, but for those who don't here it is. So let me know what you guys need to know, and I would be happy to tell. :P Alex He has no sig
Nightmare Walkin
I don't have much experience as of yet for developing but have been playing games religiously since the eighties. I would happily help with testing and with any other aspect that I might be helpful.
TheTerminator2004
Well, a rought overview, and a detailed design document would be great :P But lets stick to just a general overview of the game for now, perhaps lol
