Currently in hospital at the moment. Sorry for the late reply.

Crap :sad: Don't sweat the modding, just focus on getting better. There's no rush on Chauncey.

 

I like the idea of a double headed supersledge,

OK I'll start on the model

 

I think some of the bumper sword animations will also work with a slashing combat knife too, so I'm going to mess around with that as well.

 

What do you think of the quest ideas? I promise I'll get back to writing as soon as I am discharged from the hospital.

Let me get back to you on the other points/subjects. I'm at work and just trying to check in so it doesn't look like I dropped off the face of the planet.

So I recently find myself sceptical of the other mutants of the wasteland, specifically the ones living in human society. This includes the ones cut from the original files of NV. And have found some interesting things. For example: There is a character known as drill Sergeant in the game files and until the patch was in retail copies. He has some interesting dialogue that can be used for a character such as Chauncey (who trains the new rangers and usually has the best teams).

Your looking at the just now recorded lines. The file New Chauncey dialogue is what your looking at

A good example I'd shoot for (if your natural timbre and register allows) is Marcus's voice. To me (and this is highly subjective, of course) the recorded lines sound like they would be much more appropriate for a ghoul. It sounds a bit reminiscent of Desmond from point lookout.

 

See if you can imitate Marcus. I can do it, but I'd really prefer not to add to my to do list, if at all possible.

 

@ Devinpatterson Any headway on the sledge hammer?

No I havn't worked on the sledge or any fallout/modding for a while (busy in RL). But don't sweat it, it's not rocket surgery. Pose yuoi gui. Delete all vertex groups and skeleton. Poly reduction (there's at least two functions in blender, poly reducer and decimate). New desaturated & scaled texture. Scale and join it to the sledge. It's not going to be one of the more time consuming/difficult tasks in building Chauncey.

 

Thanks for the information. A recent development has occured, which may change Chaunceys Backstory a little. But for the time being its still under talks.

If possible, try to give me a little lead time on your vision, so I have plenty of time to decide on what to include, compromises etc.

Well I can actaully make a voice similar to Marcus (i.e Deep and Audible) and wanted to do that at first if you listen to the other voice files. But I didnt want it to sound like he was a carbon copy of Marcus.

As for the recent backstory developement I think its about time the members of the Chauncey team got togeter and discussed the idea in detail. Agreed?

I think a deeper voice reflects to some extant a larger chest cavity/deeper resonance. I wouldnt' worry about sounding too much like Marcus since teh content and especially the tempo will be so different. Marcus has a fairly "measured" and constant speech pattern, which should differentiate it fairly easily from a more forceful military cadence.

 

As for the recent backstory developement I think its about time the members of the Chauncey team got togeter and discussed the idea in detail. Agreed?

I'm not sure about a team per se, I think it's just you and I (I haven't received any other offers of help). But if it's something you want considered for inclusion in the mod, it's good to hash it out early (saves time and effort if the idea is a dead end).
