Xantos2008
Hey all After being bored of other games i decided it was time to play Fallout 3 again .So i went and installed the game up-dated it to 1.7 and installed the DLC (all of em). I also installed Various mods for the game but limited them so the would not cause problems . Now the problem . When i start playing (after windows start up) the game runs fine for about 30 - 60 mins then it randomly freezes and i have to ctrl+alt+del out of the game to end it . The error msg is always the same windows has stopped interacting with the program .When it freezes however the sound with just keep going on like normal .Also when it has crashed and i restart the game the freezing seems to occur but this time in a shorter frame of time for example after like 15 mins . I tried everything i could find that might solve the problem i.e updating Net to 3.5 the ini tweaks and so on but the problem just does not go away . My system specs are :Inter Core2Quad Q9550 @ 3.42x2 GB of OCZ memoryGeforce 285 GTX with 2 GB memoryAsus Striker 2 NSE mainbordWindows Vista Buisness 64 Bit Drivers are up to date and so is windows . i have seen that ppl also have CTD's and freezing in oblivion , i tested oblivion on my PC with mods however that game runs fine . this is the error msg that show in the event viewer Faulting application Fallout3.exe, version 1.7.0.3, time stamp 0x4a40f18b, faulting module Fallout3.exe, version 1.7.0.3, time stamp 0x4a40f18b, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0048503d, process id 0xe60, application start time 0x01ca31e5c23d5c08. I did find out that in pretty much every case the game crashed this code is the reason 0xc0000005 . If others have crashing probs please check if you have the same error code in your event viewer . Hope some1 can help :)
gsmanners
It would be nice if Emergent had an open KB, but everything we know is second-hand information based on what *we have guessed* to be the case, as evidenced in these threads: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=890373http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=892715 Some people claim to have it working without crashing and freezing, but I'm convinced those people are either mistaken or are lying. So, basically we are relegated to alpha tester status in spite of the fact that we paid premium money for this defective product.
