rimmrimm
/// hi, i'm new to the forums. and i have a little problemregarding NPC editing. in case you dont want to read it all here's my question: Can i reset the Dead Count to 0 and resurrect the Big Town NPCs then? --- i finished the "Big Town" quest whith repairing therobot and promising to help the citizens with an muti attack. i quickly travelled to Megaton to getsome weapons for that but as soon as i got back, all Big Town guys and girls where gone. no onewas there anymore. seem like it took too long toget some weapons. so i thought lets try to respawn them via the console.but it dont work. all Big town inhabitans immediatelydie after i respawn them. (but only them / other NPCs are working fine) so tried a lot of stuff but no way. Example (commands in order) prid 3a77 - target Sydney moveto player - move Sydney to the player additem cb547 1 - add Vengeance additem 6b53e 1000 - add ammunition to Sydney equipitem cb547 - equip Vengeance unequipitem 20420 - unequip Combat Armor setessential 3a22 1 - make Sydney unkillable placeleveledactoratme 94ecc - place a new Super Mutant Master at Sydney. Can be repeated for more. NPC reset example (in order) prid 3a77 - target Sydney disable followed by enable - disable and enable, make sure the NPC is active kill followed by resurrect - kill and resurrect, reset the NPC moveto player - move NPC to player (or player.moveto 3a77 to move the player to Sydney.) this all causes dead Big Towners too.i guess i spotted the reason for it.when i resurrect a Big Town character with the RefIDthere is a notice: "Dead Count: 1.0"so i guess the NPCs died in a generated fight.so my question is: Can i reset the Dead Count to 0 and resurrect the Big Town NPCs then? BTW - here is what the script help tells me. but i dont know how to use it: :thanks: any answer is welcome. (and sorry if i posted in thw wrong place) ///

gsmanners
You need to find bodies and do a "resurrect" on them to get them back, although for the purposes of the quest I doubt that will be satisfactory. I happen to know that that quest is really picky about your whereabouts. You need to fast-travel *before* you get close to Big Town. Red (and anyone else you rescue from Germantown) will continue to follow until you reach Big Town. The upshot here is that you will need to restore an old save. You do save a number of times, right? n0t0ryczny
Wait, wait. Gsmanners, please write a step-by-step instructions to restore those guys. Pretty please. Be specific about that fast travel thing.
gsmanners
Well, if you find a body, you go to console mode and click on it, then type resurrect. It ain't rocket science. :) As for the fast travel "thing" I guess this could explain it more specifically: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Big_Trouble_in_Big_Town#Notes
n0t0ryczny
Well, if you find a body, you go to console mode and click on it, then type resurrect. It ain't rocket science. :) As for the fast travel "thing" I guess this could explain it more specifically: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Big_Trouble_in_Big_Town#Notes Yes, I know that NPCs reset is simple. The trick is, they are dying right after being revived. And what do you mean by 'revive an old save'? The residents died about 13 levels ago. gsmanners
/me isn't sure whether you are trolling :glare: You mind writing in detail what your problem is?
rimmrimm
simple explanation: > Big Towners are gone> no dead bodies> adding them with console command = spawned characters are dying immedialtely> resurrecting the dead bodies via console = they die immediately after exiting the console > REASON: the Big Town people died in in fight with the muties and get a "Dead Count = 1.0" which we couldn't change with our knowledge
gsmanners
Could you guys please read the above thread before replying? To answer your question, I don't think there is a way to fix it apart from what I've already said before: The upshot here is that you will need to restore an old save. You do save a number of times, right?
rimmrimm
yeah but this is not possible anymore becaus it been over 15 gameplay hours since than. at least i made a little step forward by making a modification that makees the big townersessential and respqwning on their own. but niw they are unconcious and they cant be woken up.
