Trooper909
Hi,first post here but i have no idea were im going wrong. first things first my fallout is patched to the latest version with no dlc and this is the 1st mods iv tried for the game(running vista OS) Mods attemted to dl are modmanager FOSE and arciveinvalidater + some warhammer 40k stuff wich for most of them needs said 3 addons. FOSE says it needs to be in the same folder as fallout3.exe but for some reason my fallout3 has no folder with that name the launcher is simply called fallout3 same goes for the shortcut path is just fallout3 wich is strange so that wont work modmanager has no mods on the list same as the fallout3 data files just fallout3.esm is there.i folowed all instructions on how to install the mods etc and have intalled literly 100s of mods for other games never had this much trouble were am i going wrong?Do it need to just re install the game or? also another strange thing is when i type in the console my @ key is were my " should be its just really wierd any ideas? IceDragon987
You need to install Fose in C:\Whatever directory\Whatever directory\Fallout 3 Thats it. That is where Fallout3.exe will be located. I hope you are using FOMM which is installed in the same directory as FOSE was. FOMM will automatically detect what mods you have. You have an instalation problem that needs to be fixed. I'd suggest uninstalling FOMM and FOSE and reinstall them to the correct paths. Reported your post so the Moderator will be aware that this is in the wrong forum

(edit)is there an alt program other than FOSE because i think its silly to base allmost every mod on ONE program that dont even seem tested and dont even work.for me anyway. phoneyLogic
The fallout.exe is in < your install path > \ Fallout 3 \ So by default this would be C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\ Fallout 3\ Unzip the latest FOSE Version and copy all files int the Fallout 3 folder. Now you can start fallout via fomm or the fose.exe At least it is important to run a FOSE supported game version. -> E.g. a German cut Version does not work with fose. IceDragon987
No problem, Make sure your using the beta version of FOSE! If your just using the "stable" verision you will have no luck with most mods. Also like the above poseter stated, launch Fallout 3 via FOMM by clicking on Launch FOSE. Fose doesn't call the registry, it calls for Fallout3.exe
