Is there much of a gameplay difference gender-wise

Other being able to use the Black Widow perk (if it's even worthwhile) are there any striking differences in choosing to play a female character? I'm considering starting my third play-through and wondered how different it would be.

I'm not going to get into mods yet because I'm very good at making such things work and my PC can't run the game with all the settings maxed.

not one bit of difference at all other than Black Widow stuff, like getting Burke not to blow up Megaton

but other than that there is absolutly zero difference

it would have been nice if there was, but Bethesda has their limitations on time and resources so you can't get everything you would want...

come to think of it, most games that let you choose have absolutly no difference, and if they do have a difference it is just a different fighting style no different than changeing from one male character to the other...

The only difference between the black widow perk and lady killer is... 75 % of the enemies you see are men, and black widow perk gives you a bit of fighting chance against them  , and therefore it is more suited for combat characters (WTF o_O ) and better than lady killer at this part ;D , now there is zero difference between their role-play value, to the extents that I am aware of.

It's purely cosmetic most of the time, which I suppose is just to keep the balance and avoid sexism complaints that would eventually come.

I've started my 4th game, and I've decided to be female for once. I would recommend playing as different characters each time - gender and class wise - because it's refreshing. I'm used to being male gunners, so for once I decided to be a female diplomat.

Lots of mods are aimed at female characters. ( Clothes, bodies etc. ) Also the Black Widow perk is much more useful since there's a heck of a lot more male enemies than female.

I prefer to play female char´s first the black widow perk is very useful and second reason is that there are many more mos´s for female charakters like armor and clothing

And third---as a male gender ........ (censored)

Really fighting the stereotype there...

That's one of the main factors which usually prevents me playing as a female characters - the stereotype that you're only doing it to perv. Yes, you would never make an ugly character, and nine times out of ten you would try to make them look hot, but the point is I play as female characters purely to have a break from my usual 'Male Rifleman' character.

I'm doing an Art course, and we are taught to draw BOTH males & females, because it reflects bad on you if you can only draw males. I think that barrier hasn't been broken in games, and we still think if a guy plays as a female character he's a perv.

Female characters are good gameplay-wise. Because you have something to look at through all those boring traveling sessions
