Realistic magazine clips and no auto reload?

Anyone know of a mod that makes it so when you run out of ammo, you dont auto reload and instead just hear clicks of the gun until you manually reload?

Also, make it so clips of ammo work realistically. As in, if you have a full 24 rounds in an assault rifle. and you squeeze off 4 rounds, you have 20 left in that clip.... Then you reload and put a full 24 round clip in your gun and the 20 round clip is put in your backpack as a separate clip of ammo. And when you reload it will pick any clip of that type of ammo to use, so you reload again and it will give you 20 rounds by using that old 20 round magazine you saved.

I guess you would need to re-haul the ammo system and make ammo come in clips, instead of piles of bullets.

As for the partial clips, I know this has been discussed before, but I'm not sure if anything came of it. You can try searching this forum to see if you can find the old thread. I don't recall seeing anything that disables automatic reloading though.

Aside from that, yes I would like to see magazine based ammunition. Something like you can buy magazines, but you need to load them with loose rounds, and if you fire off say 22 rounds out of a 30 round mag, there is a script that keeps track of how many rounds are left in the mag and when you reload it goes back to your inventory and is used after all your fully loaded mags have been used. For example, you have 5 magazines for the Assault Rifle, You unload the first mag (24 rounds in this case), fire off 20 from the second, 22 from the third, 16 from the fourth and all from the fifth mag. The first magazine to be reused would be the fourth because it had the most shots left, then the second, and finally the fourth. When you fire all the rounds from a magazine it goes back into your inventory as an empty mag, and to reload it you would need loose ammo. When its reloaded it is usable again for your gun.

I would think that any time there was a break in the action, you would - as I was trained to do - top off any partly used mags, first with any loose rounds, then by removing rounds from other partly empty mags to make as many full mags as you can. With full mags placed in a particular place and empties in another pre determined place so you don't grab empties by mistake. This should be assumed by the game and should not have to be done manually.

Well I was thinking that you would be prohibited from reloading mags during combat, but to reload you would just click on an empty mag and it would load any loose ammo you had.

How bout keeping one in the chamber if you hadnt fully emptied your mag. R6 style mmmmm. I have thought about this idea as well but i didn't think people would like it that much as i thought it might be to much work to much to keep track of but ill look into it more now =]

Yeah I forgot about that, so you can have 30 + 1.

Hmm... as for implementing it, maybe have magazines of ammo that are shown like weapons or armor and their health is the number of bullets in them.

For example, a magazine of minigun ammo might have a "health" of 100, and each time you fire a gun using that magazine then it subtracts 1 from the health. Thus you get 100 shots per magazine and if you stop using it then however many shots are left remain in the magazine. You could refill half-empty or empty magazines by using the 'repair' feature and moving all the bullets from one to another... and when all the bullets in a magazine are used up then you have the empty container left to keep and refill later.

This way, ammo has weight, and could possibly be damaged by things (shooting a tank of flamer fuel would damage the tank and remove some of the health/ammo from it).
