Kayvon
So I just reinstalled Fallout cause a mod decided to ruin my game. Now that I've reinstalled it the game CTD's on startup. I am not using any mods or DLC right now so it isn't the load order :whistling: . I went through the patches t see if that was the issue. It wasn't. I've reinstalled a few times before and this is the first time happening.
gsmanners
Did you update the GfWL? The old one has a tendency to do that (crash on startup) on later revisions of Fallout 3. http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=128962
Kayvon
Nope, that didn't work. I installed it to the desktop like I usually do so I can drop mods faster. Do I have to move a GfWL file into the FO directory? EDIT: By "it" I mean FO3.
gsmanners
Even for a Windows game, Fallout 3 is surprisingly crash-happy. If updating GfWL doesn't fix it, I suppose it must be something in your system it doesn't like. By that, I mean security apps and/or drivers. Kayvon
Well I tried to install the game using my friend's copy of the game and it still crashed, so I went and deleted every single file from my last install. Turns out my Fallout.ini file was the main culprit.
