enjelsama
Ok... were to even start. I've been working on this World Space for some time now, sticking to Vannilla stuff only. So 1st question.. 1. I havn't played for awhile, So is it safe to assume majority of users have Kotn and SI? SI offers plenty of things i could use.Bu would hate to cut amount of people who don't have it. 2. Beautiful Peoples seems to be used by just about everyone, Nother safe to assume its ok to use this for making all my NPC's for my world space? Blender.... was told to get it.. I did. Then i need nother program..but wait.. I need something to convert nifs.... O wait! I need this program to do this.. You know what...F-that. Its totally drawing me away from work I was doing on finshing up details and monster/item placement for my worlds. =/ 3. Anyone willing to do some minor work on 2 projects. Its mostly cosmetic and not creating totally new things.(outside Death knight armor) If i'm going off subject...its just give you idea of whats going on. It was gonna be a stand alone dungeon, but I changed my mind. If you've played Vagrant Story on ps1, you'll remember the Iron Maiden. =3 I saw a Dullain Model and awaiting premission to use it. (so that parts kinda covered) I'm currently using standerd Lich model, but would love to add crown or something minor to make him stand out as Death. If someone could give a hand, i'd be greatful! The more major work would be the Lineage 1 Death Knight.Basiclly a regualr skeliton but he has armor on... I'm not going to flashie to make it perfect match. But would love to itlest add gaunlets, chest peice, leggings and Tasset. It doesnt even have to look like Lineage 1 version. But i do have a plan if someone is intrested and takeing some of my references and giving it a go. Be super greatful! Its mostly cosmtics, like i said. But it would make this Download slighty more original then just nother random world space added. ----Ok, thats only a few questions, But i'd like feed back on those before I ask more.Thx for any and all help. =3 PS: Sorry for my bad english, And before you think about bad effects on the mod... I have few friends who will be writing and going over each others quest notes and books for correct grammer. >_>
thehim87
1. Yes you can fairly rely on KOTN and SI. Most of mods require them, it has almost become what one would call an "updated Oblivion". 2.Well I don't use Beautiful People. But it is true that Beautiful People is used by a lot of people. The problem with BP is it is often incompatible with other cosmetic mods and even compilations which, them, work together often fine. I find BP not felexible enough and many mod must be patched in order to work with it. I personnaly use COBL in which is integrated a cosmetick pack with some of the best mods in the genre out there. I know were are numerous using COBL. For this reason I didn't use Beautiful People. Of course that's just my personal statement.
David Brasher
I think you are right about most people having KOTN and SI. The GOTY version with Oblivion and the two expansions has been a best-seller. I might be an exception to the rule, but I do not use any beauty mods for NPCs and the PC. I would not be able to play your mod without downloading, installing, and getting new plug-ins to work. The forums are crammed with people begging for advice on how to get their games to work right when using beauty plug-ins, so I suspect there are a fair number of people who do not succeed in using them or don't even dare try. But if your mod is cool enough, that could motivate people to acquire new plug-ins so they could play it. Great luck on your mod!
enjelsama
Alright then, i'll base npc's off vannilla stuff. Probaly work best that way. Main reason was it added alot of races like lineage elves and cat people. I'll leave few of near finish area pics here. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/YuffieX/ScreenShot35.jpg Castle no were near done... was trying to find some new monster to put inside... But its mostly a reference to Monster Hunter games where you fought Black Dragon Fatalis.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/YuffieX/ScreenShot25.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/YuffieX/ScreenShot26.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/YuffieX/ScreenShot15.jpg

LFact
2.Well I don't use Beautiful People. But it is true that Beautiful People is used by a lot of people. I know were are numerous using COBL. For this reason I didn't use Beautiful People. Of course that's just my personal statement. No two cosmetic mods can be used together, usually. Usually, last loaded one will get priority, or they conflict each other, causing 'Black eyes'(missing eye meshes or textures) or 'Googly eyes'(wrong eye texture on wrong eye meshes). Especially for Beautiful People, because it replaces default eye meshes and textures with those of Elaborate Eyes. I'm strictly stick to BP(and its modification), and it won't cause much problem as long as any custom NPC uses vanilla eyes.
bben46
Unless there is some reason, avoid any beautification add ons in your mod. stick with vanilla as much as you can. By requiring things like beautiful people - or any other mods - you force users to redo their mod list. By using vanilla while modding, you will allow them to use any custom beauty mods they want. Of course, any custom meshes and textures needed should be included. Instead, recommend that they use certain mods - such as beautiful people, if they want their game to look like your screen shots. When I mod, I use a bare unmodded game. and only add in what is absolutely needed by the mod I am working on. Then when testing, I add in a lot of popular mods and look for game breaking or mod breaking conflicts.
SickleYield
Adding new races for NPCs can be done, it just has to be done carefully. I highly recommend you have a look at Middark's Heart of the Dead and imitate his methods if you really want unique NPCs. I have tons of cosmetically different races on my system and nary a bug with this incredible quest mod. Most important of all, however is this: 1. Except for DLCs, all things that are required by your mod should be included with your mod. Make sure you get permissions. 2. Redundant with above, but bears saying: CHANGE THE PATHS TO THE EYE MESHES AND TEXTURES. This will prevent cosmetic mod conflicts no matter what the user has on their system. This means that if you want to use Nequam's meshes, which are normally in meshes/characters/Nequam/eyes (or wherever), you should instead put them in meshes/characters/nameofyourmod and direct the race entry to the new path. The races should be made unplayable so that they don't clutter up your users' systems, especially if they're races they may already have. This way you don't overwrite anything on anyone's existing setup. I really think having new races in a quest mod can be done in a way that works and is fun for the mod user, it just takes a little more work on the part of the modder. Like I said, look at Middark's HOD.
