somnabulist
Hello, all! I've always loved the fallout series; it's post-apocalyptic feel, the incredible diversity of choices and quests and story forks, and the great community. Recently having finished my first Fallout 3 game, I decided to... Rectify... Some storyline deficiencies I saw, and also weave a tale of my own that takes place in the space of Fallout 3. I don't have any of the dlc yet, although I do plan to purchase them in the future; for this run, we're going to run vanilla Fallout 3 in terms of official content. In terms of mods, however... Mods are awesome. They add immersion, fix stuff, and add all sorts of cool things to the game. The ones I'm planning on using so far consist of: - The unofficial Fallout 3 Patch- FOOK- Repair Rethought- Joefoxx's Gun Mod- Named NPC's (Megaton, Paradise Falls, Underworld)- Usable Cigarettes- Mr. Lab Technician- The UPPs!- GreenWorld- Enhanced Weather- A Note Easily Missed, An Evening with Mr. Manchester, To Sleep, Perchance to Dream And I will gladly take any suggestions or use your mod if you would like (or take a mod off if by any sense of the word, you'd like to see it off the list). So in that sense, unlike most LP's where you might decide what characteristics the main character has, what get's done and the like, consider this a chance to suggest things you'd like to see showcased! Even if it does take me awhile to get around to reaching them plot-line wise, especially if they're a story/plot mod. There are some criteria I'd like to meet however: That the mods in question are not super-powered or make things too unrealistic... Or if they do, they have a good reason why. In terms of storytelling, I despise the epic and love the real and the gritty. What makes something awesome is when a character who *isn't* the toughest, meanest, power armor wearing, magic-wielding, biscuit hammer dropping space marine manages to get by, at least in my opinion. As such, I might focus on areas and characters that felt they could be explored more in Fallout 3, and editing a few dialogue choices and conversations in the interest of portraying my thoughts of how things could have gone. If it isn't your cup of tea, no hurt feelings although I'll still hope to see you around! Although I already have basic screens taken for the establishing/intro/welcome to Megaton section, I want to find out if there are any suggestions or requests to remove a mod before I start in earnest. Also, any recommendations on photo-capturing utilities other than print screen and places to store things other than photobucket will be met with warm smiles and fresh baked cookies. :) Only +2 rads! 5ivexxxxx
I say you should add Cube Experimental to your list of mods. It's a really good, complex quest mod. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6270Another is DCInteriors, which basically adds interiors to a lot of boarded up places in DC. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5573 And don't forget Weapon Mod Kits!! http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3388 As well as Mart's Mutant Mod. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3211 If you need a good screen capture program (that's free), use MWSnap. I host my pictures on Imageshack. Sorry for the wall of advertisements. It's what you asked for, after all! :) I'm looking forward to this. Are you going to be doing it like a regular Let's Play? As in, recording gameplay with commentary?

evilneko
Cool. I'm writing up my currenct character's (Blaze) adventures and posting them in a blog format online. Need to post some more though. Be sure to grab Galloping Gourmet, a food mod that also makes the sanitizer a lot more worthwhile. Assuming that is that similar functionality isn't included already in one of your mods. I can set you up an ftp account on my server if you don't mind using ftp to upload (it's simple, really). Short urls, no ads when clicked, and no bandwidth limit. :P
5ivexxxxx
Got any updates? I wanna see where this is going. I'd do a Let's Play of Fallout 3, but my computer isn't quite up to snuff.
