Aecko
I hear it's quiet a bad influence on young girls, too. Apparently Bella is really whiney, weak, and dependant. Damsel in distress. Edward is apparently a controlling, angry jerk who she falls in love with. Result: girls think controlling, jerkish guys are attractive. At least this is what I've read. I could be totally wrong. Skotte
I do wonder why the sun is so neutered Vamps typically violently combust, smolder slowly, or go poof in sunlight. but Twilight saga vamps... Oh dear lord! I'm sparkling! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! (screaming like a girl)
zprospero
Well, my main problem is that it pretty much eradicates everythingabout vampires that's from lore, other than the blood-drinking. This is a vampire: http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp269/cafehey/Nosferatu2.jpg That aside, the 'relationship' is incredibly unbalanced. Is it 'love' because he doesn't snap her neck or drink her blood? She's in complete surrender to his whims because he's cute?A decidedly unhealthy attitude. The movie, however, has many many things against it, even if you like the books. The acting is... not up to par. And the screenwriter apparently refused to realizethat they were not writing a book. They transferred a great deal of things from thebook that have no possible way of working in a movie. You can't have characters stareinto each other's eyes for five minutes, saying nothing, with no voice-over. In a bookyou can get away with it, not in a film. That doesn't work. I find the solution to this, mainly because I'm a Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan,is something called Rifftrax. Google it or look on Youtube for the samples, it makessuch movies much more bearable. MonsterHunterMaster
NOSFERATU!!!(Do you call him that way in the US?)I think the twilight saga is more for kinda little kids(6years old), to have their first experience with vampires
zprospero
Well, I suppose the concept of vampires in Twilight is easierfor parents to stomach showing their kids (all my own feelings aside)since they do sparkle instead of burning to death, screaming in agony. That being said it has far too many other messagesgoing on. If I had kids I wouldn't let them watch it. I say let them watch the Christopher Lee Dracula sothey have nightmares about vampires, like they should, instead of wanting to marry them. Yes, we call him Nosferatu in the US, but hisname is actually Count Orlock. Bram Stokersued because they tried to use the name Dracula,so they changed it at the last second. I think on myDVD of it the speech cards say Dracula, though.
zprospero
It double posted by itself... I'm here talking about vampires and my computer is haunted. Great. Seriously though, Horror of Dracula, the Lee one, has the best vampire death scene ever.He doesn't sparkle, that's for sure.
