Verranicus
I've been a long time lurker here, and just came into some money so I plan to purchase Oblivion tomorrow after work. I was wondering if someone could tell me what some "must have" mods are, as well as pointing me in the direction of landscape expansion mods that are actually well made/complete, and villages/immersion things. ^^ I like to role play and get really into it, and the bigger and more fleshed out the game world is the better it is for me. I'm really sorry if this has all been asked before, but I'm posting this from a really old laptop and for whatever reason the search function won't work. =( Thanks in advance. LFact
For me, the only 'must have' is: Unofficial Oblivion Patch. (If you have Shivering Isles and other DLCs, then Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch and Unofficial Official Mod Patch are also 'must have') If you're a first-time player, play the game at least once until you need something to 'fix up' flaws of vanilla game(unmodded, out-of-box). Verranicus
Oh, a little note before I head off to bed, will I run into any problems with the GOTY edition? I've heard some people complaining about it in the past.. @LFact: Thank you, I'll consider that. ^^

Sharkull
I'd go with the UoP, and maybe body replacers. After you learn about the levelling system...http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Leveling...eveling_Problem...you might want to look into something to make managing your levelling... well... less painful. JCP768
List of mod lists TOQL* There's also immersion, and roleplay lists in that topic *I like quest mods, they're what I recommend. .... Also, if you have a bethsoft forums account, maybe try searching azerbagb over there; it's the word I use to catalogue these type of topics into one search result. xoxSugah
Slof's Horses, Better Beasts, Dogs, Khajiit Retexture, Robe Trader, and Claws. Then there's Windsurfer's AliveWaters. Ugh. It's awful, but that's all I can think of for immersion mods. You really don't wanna play without Slof's horses though for sure. The black horses in vanilla Oblivion are PURPLE >.<
dezdimona
OBMM and OBSE are utilities, not mods for clarification.
