xaechireon
I know I did something that the Mages Guild disapproves of, such that the guild members will not sell me spells, recharge my weapons, or do anything other than engage in conversation. The problem is, I don't know what. I don't have any stolen objects on my being, I don't have a bounty, I haven't done anything the public should be concerned about. What are the things that will cause the mages to do this?
LoginToDownload
The Mages Guild will kick you out if you kill a member without being witnessed too, but that doesn't sound like what happened. I'm not really sure how they could lose their service options, though. What time is it? They often don't offer services at nighttime or during meals. Which members won't offer services? Do the options simply not appear, or are they actively denying you them?
dezdimona
check your journal, there should be a notification of things you need to get back in their good graces
xaechireon
Uh no. Nothing in my journal. I didn't get myself kicked out of the guild. the spell merchant icon/magic item recharge/skill trainer icons just don't show up. They often don't offer services at nighttime or during meals. Never, or not often? This might be the reason.
LoginToDownload
Depends on the NPC, I think. Not everyone has the same AI schedule. Do you have any mods that might be interfering? Which NPCs have you tried it with?
xaechireon
Well, I'm running these mods, not that they affect NPCs in any way other than making them look better. I've not bothered with all the guild branches yet (challenging oneself not to fast travel makes going to another city somewhat tedious) but it has happened in Bravil and Bruma branches so far. Megatarius
One of the many facepalm moments in the game: Characters I know sell things in a guild hall, are away from their desks at the moment, usually having meals. Okay, they're on lunch. Great. Would it have killed them to add a dialogue option to the effect of "When do you get back to work? I would like to buy something from you." :wallbash:
LoginToDownload
Given the simplicity of the dialogue system, I'd say something like that would be kinda weird in Vanilla Oblivion's state.
xaechireon
I think its the timing thing that's causing this. It'd be nice if they'd lock their doors or something (Really, you join the guild and suddenly everyone's as trusting as an old friend), or hung out a "Closed" sign somewhere.
