[RELz] Ultraviolet Sword from the Movie

Well, I had to wake up with the baby (getting his molars!) so to help pass the time, I worked some more on this model. At this point, I believe that I am done with the model work.

 

somrue, if you do not have any objections or suggestions for changes, this is the model I will end up going with. I will stop here to give you some time to reply before I start work on creating the UV Map, adjusting the size, adding collision and prepping for export to NIF format.

 

The scabbard, blade and handle are all 100% hand-made and fully optimized for gameplay (low poly but shaped well enough to look correct. The only exception is that the pommel was created using a low-poly box shape and then a bevel modifier applied to give it a beveled edge. The wireframe screenshot shows the low-poly model but the actual end-result will be the higher-poly beveled edge. I do not finalize the bevel until I am 100% done with the model and ready to start the UV Map process.

FYI - I've updated the topic title to reflect what is going on in this topic since it is now a work-in-progress rather than just a request.

 

I suppose you'll also need a plugin to add this into the game.

 

What stats would you like this sword to have? Do you have a favorite shop you'd like to see this added for sale and/or set on display for stealing? Or would you rather pry it from the dead hands of an NPC somewhere?

 

I can do any of those but please keep it simple as I do not have much time for this.

I think it would have similar stats to the majority of katanas in the game, maybe more durability. As for a shop, maybe one in Bruma or Cheydinhal, somehwere far north.

Ok, a shop in Bruma it is.

 

Do you want any parts of the texture to glow?

 

Do you want enchantment on it? If so, what specifically.

 

EDIT: xxXEvandarXxx, the UV Map is almost complete. The dimensions will be 2048w x 512h but obviously can scale to higher or lower resolutions based on what you'd prefer to do but this is the scale of the image which is short and wide. I will provide a multi-layered template you can work from which will have the UV Map and sample colors so you can see exactly where each part of the texture fits onto the weapon. Once I finish scaling the model to the appropriate size and get a working version in-game, I will send it your way via PM.
