GallifreyanTimeLord
Nah, I don't have a Geforce 8800 GS, this is just set in the ini cause I use this supposedly performance boosting d3d9.dll, my real graphics card is a Geforce 210. Not really a modern gaming card either, but it has 1GB of VRAM. I don't use the HD DLC or any mods that could put a stress on my card. I play with textures on high, though. However, changing the settings doesn't change anything sadly, so I guess it doesn't have anything to do with the graphics... although since CPU usage is at constant 100% (all used by TESV.exe) it might be something loading. GallifreyanTimeLord
=================================I SOLVED THE ISSUE================================= Might be useful for anyone else having this issue. And the fix was so goddamn easy! Just get into your Skyrim Data folder and locate TESV.exe. Right click it and select Properties. Choose the compatibility mode and choose the compatibility mode for Windows 95. So now I fire up Skyrim, Dragon logo appears and BOOM after two seconds the menu options appear. I KNEW this wasn't a fault of the hardware, because technically, nothing should be loaded before the main menu. Anyway I'm so happy now I can't event tell you. This has been such a restriction which has now been removed.

GallifreyanTimeLord
Yeah, I am. Windows 7 would run on my PC but it would mean worse performance for Skyrim and some other games... Anyway gonna get a new PC probably next month so I won't have any performance related problems at all any more :D
