Which daedra lord is the greatest?

Um... those two are all you know? o_O

I'd say... Azura, though I don't like her. While Sheogorath suffered a certain "accident" and Mehrunes Dagon got kicked back to his Oblivion hole, Azura gets her way. Always. Morrowind is not one but I believe TWO examples. Isn't that the measure of true greatness?

On the others:

Molag Bal - has the potential.

Mephala - has the potential but is quite incomprehensible.

Boethiah - has the potential.

Malacath - loser.

Meridia - loser.

Namira - "basking in misery and filth" is hardly a path for greatness.

Nocturnal - quiet and secretive. Definitely powerful but not ambitious enough for greatness.

Sanguine - loser. Pretentuous.

Vaermina - probably has the potential but that is quite vague.

Hircine - too primitive. Hunt this, hunt that. Has the potential of being a loser.

Peryite - too primitive.

Sheogorath - too interesting to ever truly be a loser, could be the greatest, but alas, he cares only for... well... whatever he cares for. Probably having fun? And well, if taking all lore in account he's no longer around. I would not take that player-character-surrogate-for-Sheogorath seriously - at least not yet.

Mehrunes Dagon - the larger they are, the harder they fall. Loser.

Clavicus Vile - are you kidding me? Loser.

Jyggalag - well, considering for greatness someone who is only NOMINALLY a daedra lord? Nah. Well, he had them all scared, but not for too long

Hermaeus Mora - likely has the potential but is too secretive and mysterious for a proper conclusion.

yeah dagon would have to be one of my favourites because of his sheer power and nature. as opposed to one like azura or nocturnal who just seem content to observe over tamriel and only step in quietly sometimes.

Azura observing Tamriel? Have you even played Morrowind? She's a terrifying manipulator :)

yes i have played morrowind. but shes really just a "guide" type influence. shes certainly leading the player down a path so that she can accomplish her own ends but it is the the same with all daedra they all trick and deceive the "foolish" mortals.

Azura is the greatest, but not my favorite in any way. Azura seems to always get her way over all the other daedra lords, so wouldn't you think that makes her the greatest?

As for my own personal favorite, I have to say Nocturnal, Sanguine or Sheogorath. Nocturnal because of the Skeleton key-quest prize (that I happen to adore in Oblivion, saves me loads of time and I never really liked the lockpicking-minigame), Sheogorath cuz he's just awesome that way, and Sanguine just is cool. I can't really explain why the last two are great. They're just a lot more fun then the rest of all the daedra lords.
