Which daedra lord is the greatest?

yes i have played morrowind. but shes really just a "guide" type influence. shes certainly leading the player down a path so that she can accomplish her own ends but it is the the same with all daedra they all trick and deceive the "foolish" mortals.

Just so you know, she was involved in the events of Morrowind basically from the time when Tribunal came into existence. And in this "guide" influence she actually gets what she herself wants - the Tribunal offended her and she had them down - with player's help. Do you really think daedra, not to say daedra lords, do just ANYTHING out of sheer benevolence?

So is she a fairy guide or a puppeteer? Luckily you won't have her intervene into your life in any way, so convincing you is unnesessary :)

She's not the undisputed number one for me, of course, as daedra lords are hard to understand and are immortal besides. You may have one defeated but he will return.

So I just count for presense of ambitions and amount of successes. That's why Mehrunes Dagon is a loser.

dont worry i can see the points that you are trying to make and they are perfectly valid. but i wouldnt say she is my favourite.

by the way i do realize that daedra do not act out of benevolence. they are immortal, all powerful and most of all not even human or humanoid and care nothing for lesser beings, they act solely on their own accord to accomplish their own ends.

She's not my favourite too. My favourite one is Nocturnal. But I can't say I would trust any of them. It doesn't seem daedra lords treat mortals as anything more than pawns or amusement. I just wonder why they deal with mortals at all, but none seem satisfied with their Oblivion domains alone.

I guess people don't realize that not all Daedric Princes choose conquest by strength of arms. Daedric princes for the most part are subtle with a few exceptions.

They'll make the Champion Of Cyrodill someone who "Went inside a strange gate near Bravil and was never heard of again". A la Nerevar.

Hermeus Mora, I'm all about the forbidden wisdom. To take out someone like him, would be quite an endeavor.

Herma-Mora.

With all the forgotten knowledge at his/her/it's disposal, who knows what Mora is capable of? There could be instructions for killing Aedra, Daedra princes, even entire worlds.

That is the kind of power that deserves to be respected and feared.

And envied.

That makes you wonder why Azura is 'behaving' herself and seems to be working on the 'good' side. The reason these princes interfere are still strange. Although they didn't join in to create the world, they do want 'to play' with it. Did they do because they want to play, did the 'kind' daedra joined the princes as they wanted to protect them from the other princes? And...even more interesting, the name of the realm of Azura is close to a possible name of the next ES, although it is probably not about her plane, connections with Azura could be easily made again.

Hmm, reminds me of a quote from the movie Troy where Achilles say something along the lines of "The gods envy us. they envy us because we're mortal because any moment might be our last."

My favorite does actually have to be Azura, with Herma-Mora coming in at a close second. Herma-Mora is second because I wouldn't want to worship something that looks like Cthulu's vomit....
