I've started a new playthrough recently and the game crashes when I attempt to use a smithy. Would anyone happen to be able to check out my load order and point out any conflict causing this?

Hi Ungvaar,

I am seeing a lot of "[mod name here] does not exist or is not loaded" in your paprus log, such as:

This may be the result of you not uninstalling a mod, but instead simply un-checking it, however I'm not sure. Look into this a little in your load order and get back to me.

 

However, I also notice that Requiem is not at the bottom of your load order. Requiem should always be as close to the bottom of your load order as possible. That is important here because some of the armory mods you have loaded after Requiem might interfere. Some exceptions include alternate start or Amazing Follower Tweaks, which both have to be loaded after Requiem. That raises another point; UFO - as far as I'm aware - has not been updated for quite some time, as the author is no longer developing it, and because of this it will have more and more bugs the longer it has been since it's last update. I highly recommend AFT (amazing follower tweaks) as it is very well done, and is currently being updated. Reply if you have any questions, and I will do my best to answer them!

Thanks for the tip! I've moved Requiem and it's patches down in the load order and uninstalled UFO. But my game still crashes as I try to use a smithy. What else may I be missing?

Any mod that adds Armor or something craftable can be the cause. Including mods that you UNinstalled.

 

Start a new Game, got to a smithy and see if it crashes.

Tried that. But found out what was causing it. It only crashed when I was trying to use a forge in Riverwood. So I disabled Expanded Towns and Cities - Riverwood and it worked. Now this sucks as I do like the mod. I'll probably just keep it and not use the smithy in Riverwood. However, if anyone has any idea about how to fix this, I'd appreciate it.

Have you tried Using WryeBash? I believe that's the name, it can sometimes make things compatible with each other. You will want to either look that up or get some sort of clarification as I have never used WryeBash.

Okay. If you find out what mod is conflicting with expanded Riverwood, then put that mod after it in the load order, it may solve your problem. This might be done simply by moving Expanded Riverwood to an early load position, before any armor mods.
