BlaCkBlitZ
So I'm pretty sure this one belongs in this section. A freeze frame mod that allows you to freeze everything, including time weather, magic and even the speck of dust that just flew past your face. For better screenshots. grmblf
uhm... let's imagine this mod exists... and let's imagine it lets you freeze the screen with only one key press.... what would be then the difference between pressing that key or pressing directly the screenshot key? Now I'm asking seriously, I really don't get the point of such a mod like this one you're requesting for. Do you mean freezing everything but your character? Hope you mean so  Really I can't be of much help, but from my experience modding for other games I think this can't be done, at least the way you want it. Character's animations, weather effects, visual particles, all this are things that follow different patterns. Probably you might get the right 'step' for the screenshot for everyone of them, and then re-create them in a static animation, static cloudlet, etc... I hope I'm wrong. BlaCkBlitZ
You know some moments, where you did something awesome and didn't have enough time to react. Or you just sat in amazement for what just happened? Pressing the screenshot key directly can work, but wouldn't you want the right angle? If you screwed up that action you'd have to do it all over again. Now Imagine, if by 1 touch of a button, you could freeze time; go into TFC and TM console mode and position your camera in the right position and take a screenshot. Thats the kind of freeze I'm suggesting, but if it really really can't be done...
grmblf
If I'd know what TFC and TM console are I supose it would be easier fo me to imagine that  Seriously, I get your point, but I really don't know how these things work on oblivion. I've found in other games that all that visual particles are placed according to screen position and that in fact they don't have a real world position, so if you move the camera these brightful dots move along with you, that's why I suspect this can't be done, but I say it again, I don't know how these things work in oblivion, so I won't affirm it can't be done. But hey, you're free to fundament your certainties upon my suspicions
BlaCkBlitZ
TFC is the free flying camera and TM is toggle menus. I apologize if I made it sound confusing by saying 'console mode'. As for the freeze frame, simply put: Just pause the entire game, but still allows you to go into free flying camera and position your camera. From what I'm reading I think you're focusing more on the expressions I used. I just wanted to breathe life into this idea when I said every speck of dust and weather stops. All I'm suggesting is a simple stop mod.(correct me if I'm wrong, if I inferred incorrectly) But I've seem to found a solution, 'WHOOSH' has a 0.2%-5% speed feature, which should make it so slow I can position in time. LHammonds
I know of nothing that would do what you suggest...which is basically trying to get a screenshot from an unprepared "mode". I do my "action" shots by pre-positioning the camera either in 3rd person or TFC (Toggle Free Camera) and moving around where I get the best angle. I then perform said action and press the console (`) key which freezes everything. I type CLS at the console if any commands are visible and the capture image only needs a slight bit of editing to remove the pipe character from the console. I usually have to perform the action several times and hit the console key to stop the action and "try" to get the exact frame I was going for. Sometimes I get lucky and nab it on the 1st try, sometimes it takes 30 tries to get the right frame at the right angle. Example: This is how I created these screenshots. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/12155-1190683093.jpg http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/7372-1190685097.jpg http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/19101-1-1218359728.jpg http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/13610-1-1193039798.jpg http://www.tesnexus.com/imageshare/images/128909-1219559894.jpg http://www.tesnexus.com/imageshare/images/128909-1198429811.jpg EDIT: Let me know if WHOOSH let's you do what you are looking to accomplish. BlaCkBlitZ
EDIT: Let me know if WHOOSH let's you do what you are looking to accomplish. Well, the description sounds like it accomplishes by slowing things down drastically. But I'm having issues now... I posted in the WHOOSH thread. RGMage2
What you are asking for can easily be done. It is commonly referred to as trollf's Trick, trollf being the person who first brought this to the attention of other screen shooters. What makes it work is that Oblivion doesn't like being minimised, and if you minimise it enough times it will freeze when you bring it back. (sometimes once is enough depending on your CPU and graphics card) 1) OK, you are at a point in the game where you want to freeze everything, first thing you do is hit what ever key you use to bring up the console. It would be very helpful at this point if you were already in 3rd person view, but if not it can still be done. Place one finger over the key for the console and another finger over the R key. You will have to close the console, hit the R key for 3rd person view, and open the console again, and you will have to do it very very fast or you will loose your shot. So if you think you will want to do this in a battle, you would be better off fighting in 3rd person view to avoid this step. 2) Use TM to turn off menus and TFC for free camera and do not close the console. 3) Use Ctrl-Alt-Delete to bring up Window's Task Manager, which will also minimise Oblivion. 4) Close the Task Manager and open the Windows Control Panel. Click on accessibility options and enable StickyKeys. In the settings for StickyKeys. check the box that says use shortcut. Apply all changes and close Accessibility Options 5) Click Oblivion on the Task bar and in a few seconds Oblivion will come back, still frozen with the console open, do not close the console. 6) Hit the Shift key repeatedly until the StickyKeys. Notification comes up and Oblivion minimises. Originally this was enough to do it, and you could go back to Oblivion and it would be totally frozen when you closed the console, but I've found that since I upgraded my GPU and CPU once is no longer enough. 7) Don't go back to Oblivion just yet. Do something that will tax your GPU, like viewing some of your other screen shots. Look through about 10 of them. 8 ) Bring up Oblivion again (don't close the console) and use StickyKeys again to minimise it. Do this 3 more times, open and minimise, open and minimise, open and minimise. 9) Now you are ready. Bring Oblivion back one more time and this time close the console. You should be able to move around with the camera and everything will be frozen. And I mean everything, Blood splatter, magic effects, bodies flying through the air. 10) When you have finished taking your pictures you will have to use Ctrl-Alt-Delete to close Oblivion. Because you are crashing the game, your ini file will usually not update, which means your screenshot index will not change. You will either have to manually update the ini file, or save the screenshots you've just taken somewhere else so they will not be overwritten.
