How do you get into the Shivering Isles?

Worse comes to worse, you could go up to the doors and console unlock one of 'em, but I'm not sure if that'd advance the quest if it doesn't type "player.setstage SE02 190". I think that ought'a work.... Not 100% though so save before doing it.

Edit: I tried it, I just had to unlock one of the doors and walk through, and it advanced the quest. Though, I didn't have the problem you did so you just have to try it yourself.

That might be my best option, Siojo. My girls are interested in exploring this new world. I hate to be a bother, but my list of console commands is somewhat incomplete. You wouldn't have the command to unlock the doors handy, would you? And thank you so very much for this information.

Thank you for the tip, Skull. I figured that he must be some kind of stand-out. Trouble is he is too cowardly to come out and face a couple of little girls. You hear that, Fat-Ass? Stop cowering behind those curtains and come out and fight!!

No problem, glad to be of service. To unlock the door go up to one of them and click it while the console is open and just type unlock simple, eh?

I don't know. That looks to be fairly complicated for me. But with your help I'm sure that I can muddle through it somehow. Really, I appreciate the time and effort that you as well as the other gentlemen involved here have taken in helping me out. I'd like to save this idea until after I've experimented around a little bit with the other tips. Cheating my way through something kind of goes against the grain, if you take my meaning. Sometimes it may prove to be the only option left and it's nice to have for that. Thank you once again, My Friend.

Normaly it shouldn't be complicated to open a door via console.

1. Open console

2. While console opened click on the door you want to unlock. Normaly a reference in white will appear in the upper side of your screen (WSX4544 something like that)

3. Type 'unlock', and press enter

4. A line the console will say "unlocked" if I recall.

Hope it will help.

About that load order:

Oblivion.esm needs to be absolutely first, before everything else including CM Partners.esm and Bab.esm

Rule of thumb: Oblivion.esm Always loads first.

DLCShiveringIsles.esp nearly always loads first in the .esp list, immediately after the .esm files.

There is only one possible exception to this I can think of and that's Hrmn's script optimization. And that is the only one.

Did you try turning off all mods except Oblivion.esm and DLC Shivering Isles? Obviously you wouldn't save the game, you would just run in to test if the big lug appears.

Back to your load order:

Personally I load all my pose animations near last, only a few things should go after them, and that would be your custom hair and/or race plugin, and some other things you appear not to be using.

I highly suggest you turn off all your custom creature mods temporarily, I have a feeling it's one of those.

Finally, I suggest reading and downloading TES4View & Edit. It requires you put on your thinking cap to figure out how to use, but it's worth it.

Thank you, The Him. I must apologize to you as that was a sad attempt on my part for humour. Your very helpful response is appreciated though.

Greetings to Myrmaad!! I went back as per your suggestion and disabled almost all of my mods with the exception of my TFF body, Tabaxi race and Ramy's Enfant with the same results. I did move the Oblivion.esm to the top of the list (where I had assumed that it had remained all this time). I have been able to get into the Shivering Isles using Siolo's invaluable help, but it looks like most people there have either a blank response to me or say "GREETING NOT AVAILABLE" or some such. I know that this happens when you do not exit the Ilse's properly so I went out and back again through the portal and the guards still have no response for me. I'm wondering if it might not be because I sneaked in under the fence. I'm enjoying Bliss and got some beautiful astronomical photographs while I was there so it hasn't been a total loss. I've been putting off reordering my messy mods until I get my new machine in the next two or three weeks. Thank you so very much for your suggestions. They, like everyone else's, do not go unappreciated.
