Black Screen Issue

Hi guys, me again and with another question this time:

Sometimes my screen goes black when I'm looking under specific angle in a specific direction. It usually occurs while sneaking, as far as I've noticed. As the topic says I do have an nVidia card, but UOPs include the patch for the black screen. Problem is, I don't even know if that's the same bug :yucky:

Patches are put in the right place by BOSS (as is anything else I have and the epic program recognizes). Saying so just to prevent the often seen replies "your load order is bad". I read readmes to my mods and I use utilities to make the load order as proper as I can. Such answers do not help, so skip them, please, unless it's a specific thing like "this and that mod piut before that and that may cause the black screen's appearance".

Thanks for any help, I really appreciate it. My installation works really well for the amount of mods I have installed so I'd rather not trash it all, but fix the minor bugs that may occur. And so far the only bugs I had other than this screen is arena combatants running away asking for mercy, when severely wounded and sneak button that needs to be pressed two times or so, to work, sometimes. But the sneak thing is really quite minor, and i suspect the combatants is the new AI added my some overhaul mod affecting them too.

Sounds like the same problem I had that was caused by being in an interior worldspace with the Fog setting Far set to 0.

If you're making you own mod go change that and it should help, if your in a worldspace provided by someone else's mod I'd go let them know, and probably try to give myself a temp fix.

If the problem persists in Vanilla, I have no idea. :)

You haven't provided a load order or list of your mods so no-one can say where a particular mod should go even if there was a problem one someone might notice.

BOSS is not perfect as has been stated many times. It's a good guide, but as mods are constantly updated load orders need to change and a lot of mods are not recognized because they are not in the BOSS database. The most popular ones are of course but depending on others you use you may have to do some sorting yourself.

If you don't have Wrye Bash download it and make a Bashed Patch (read the docs). It has a fix for the Nvidia Fog issue that can cause the black screen problem. Plus many, many other useful features.

The Arena combatants running away could be related to faction issues with an installed mod which is why you should supply a load order.

My load order is huge and I have merged plugins, so it doesn't make much sense to post it anyway...

I do have bashed patch, I'll try to note where exactly the thing occurs and if there's some common element around then, so I had an idea in which mod it may be occuring. I also did that "black screen fix" thing in Wrye Bash, I hope it won't blow stuff up :yucky:

And yes I do know that BOSS is not perfect, but seeing how well my huge installation works so far, and I'm depending on its advices and reordering, it's pretty great and I surely wouldn't make my order better.

Oh, and btw, is there a console command to force world respawn? I'm not sure it's working well and I'd rather respawn it manually than have my save games bugged...

That black screen when looking in a particular direction when outside are often caused by something you removed. There was something that the game is looking for in the direction that is no longer in the game.

Try going into a safe interior space and making a save, then exit the game, restart and load that save - then try again.

Try turning off both bloom and HDR. sometimes that will allow you to get passed the place where it happens. Then turn them back on.
