paladicprince
Haha nice. Good point. I'll think about it. It might be that if the wraith gets into combat with someone other than the player for thirty seconds he vanishes. But I'm not sure itwould be fun to script that. XD And I'm not sure if it's clear but at this point I am not working on this. I'm interested though, so if no one takes up the challenge I will after finishing other things. However that could easily be more than two weeks...
SiniVII
Having a wraith enter a city would... Probably not be much of a good idea, but then it strides with the fear factor since YOU are going to feel safe since you have a safe spot(Which sort of ruins the point since its supposed to make people feel hunted everywhere). On the other hand having a wraith enter a city and chase after you, could create massive conflicts with various quests depending on who the wraiths kill. Not to mention a large bodycount of guards. Still I would love to wake up after resting finding a ringwraith beside my bed about to stab me to death! That would so freak me out. I'm happy to see this idea taking peoples interest :

All the cities have guards, and guard spawns, and some have more angry citizen than others, and that can still become a large bodycount to me. If you are lucky, he kills somebody unimportant! xD

I'm happy to see this idea taking peoples interest :3 I think you should have safe spots in the cities though. Since it would be impossible to enjoy Oblivion just by staying in cities and fast travelling to another city. Which would mean you would have to exit the cities to explore and stuff which would still retain most of the hunted factor. As for saint's idea for letting wraiths entering certain places.... The 8 cities should be safe which means Kvatch is still open for the wraiths and pretty much a dead end if you do end up with one together in that city. (seperate esp for people with Kvatch rebuilt?)Since you already have villages out in the open like Weye, Hackdirt those would be open to wraiths as well. Think about it, the first time a wraith entered such a village or town, the town looked pretty much the same as the rural villages of Oblivion excluding the wooden walls and gates. Wraiths never entered cities like Minas Tirith until the invasion... Which means they didn't enter cities when there wasn't an invasion. So having these cities as safe spots is quite an okay deal/thing for me.
SiniVII
BlaCkBlitZ stated a good point. Since the wraiths never entered major cities in the movies and books, then they shouldn't be able to in the game either. But then they're just going to wait outside the gates, unless you use a different gate. Still if we're keeping to realism of the movies then that means we need them to be weak against fire as well, which wouldn't be half as fun as running away to be honest xD Maybe somebody should make a mod where you can use your torch to put people on fire as a material to have the wraiths flee ... Like one of those spells in obliviong that makes the undead flee, what was it called...? Dismiss undead? No. Well anyways if you cast it on an undead being, it will flee from you for a duration depending on the spell.
