Body Replacer question

I've only recently begun dabbling with incorporating mods into my play experience. I don't believe my issue here is with the installation process. If my suspicions are correct, my "problem" may just be inherent with the game, which I'm hoping is not the case, but I'm new here and don't know the deal. Sorry for the new topic if that's the case.

I've downloaded two mods to enhance the appearance of my characters -- Growlf's hotbody, and then exnem's female eye candy with undies. In both cases, I've noticed that the adjustment to the character model only exists with certain equipment -- for Growlf, it's the items sold at Divine Elegance. For Exnem's, it's strictly if I remove all equipment. Does the game replace the entire torso/lower body when you equip an item, or is it possible to have a character model adjustment that actually affects the character with anything they might be wearing?

It sure seems like it's the former from the way things have been happening, but that seems dumb, so I'm hoping that's not the case....if it is, any suggestions?

You are trying to use 2 different bodies. That dosn't work. Only one female body and one male body allowed. Typically the last body loaded will control what you see as it will overwrite most of the previously loaded body. Mods are loaded each time you start the game, and do not make permanent changes to the game. - although sometimes it seems like it. If I remember, Exnem's Eye candy body is a texture only mod, with no esp to allow you to enable or disable it (unless you use the OMOD version) while Growlfs is a esp type, but with Mesh and texture replacements also to make removing more difficult ( again unless you use OMOD)

The way that body mods work is not like real life where the clothing adapts to the shape of the body underneath. In mods, when a piece of clothing is applied, it REPLACES the body part it covers - there is no body underneath. Just as you suspected.

Why does that seem dumb? When you draw a picture of a person wearing clothing do you draw the naked body in great detail, then draw the underwear over the naked body, then draw the outer clothing over that? Or do you just sketch in the body shape, then skip the details and underwear and draw the outer clothing in detail? Mods are just that, a picture drawn by an artist. The parts you can't see are not drawn. It would be nice if the clothing could be made to adapt to the body, but so far it hasn't been possible. :wallbash:

So for the body shape to be noticed while wearing clothing, you must use clothing designed for that exact body shape.

As an example: if your chosen female body has B cup size, and the piece of clothing you use is for DD cup, when wearing that clothing, the apparent body will be DD cup and not B.

Also, as there is NO body under the clothing, the underwear is not there either. When you remove the outer clothing, the body part, with the underwear REPLACES the clothing. When you use the body with underwear, there is also no body under the underwear. the underwear is part of the body. So if you were to be able to remove the underwear, there would be nothing - no body, no naughty bits, just as if that part were transparent you can see the scenery through it.

Actually, body replacer replaces body meshes and textures(usually foot texture to wrap around whole body). So, trying to use 2 or more female body replacer will never work, because last installed one will overwrite meshes and textures anyway, regardless of plugin(same to male body replacers).

No, but I don't draw 3-d renderings. I would have thought it would be more sensible to create objects that fit to the rigging of the 3-d model so that there would only need to be one set of textures that could be applied to any model regardless of shape. I realize that most of the default models are very similar in stature, but it wouldn't have to be that way if it was actually on top of the body rather than being the body....Put another way, it better mimics reality. It might take more system resources to do it that way, but it would be simpler to create...

And I was not trying to use two different replacers. I tried one, was disappointed that it only worked in certain contexts, so I tried another. I didn't expect them to work simultaneously...nor would I want that. I want *a* body. I just happen to think it would be nice to have one that isn't the default. I guess I'll stick to that, though, since that makes more sense than having the body shape randomly change when I outfit my character differently.

Thanks for response.
