LHammonds
Camtasia Studio is not free ($330) but it is a very nice tool in which I use SnagIt to capture training video and Camtasia editor to apply voice-overs and callouts. I also use AVS4YOU which is very cheap ($60 for unlimited) but you only pay for one tool and you get everything else they make (21 apps) for free, forever...and from what I have used, they are excellent programs in their respective fields. For non-directx screenshots, I made a WindowCapture utility that creates JPG screenshots of the active window by just clicking the PrintScreen button which makes creating slide-show tutorials extremely fast with very little image editing / cropping. I also use VirtualDub for splitting / slicing movies clips. And my best microphone is actually my iPhone. After I record a video, I watch the video and read my lines. Once done, I email them to myself for overlay on the final product. :) LHammonds
