Fnorkus
So what I need is a campfire fireplace model for my mod. A simple classic with one with several logs meeting at the centre. It would be good to have one with a stone frame, and one without. I can't believe Bethesda actually didn't do such a thing. Anyway, an attempt at this would be much appreciated. If this is already done or if I am such an idiot and simply cant find it in the CS, please tell me where it can be found. Thanks in advance. Peace out, Fnork Banan. LHammonds
Take a look at these models that come with Oblivion: Meshes\Clutter\Farm\firepitframe.nifMeshes\Clutter\Farm\firelogpile01.nifMeshes\Clutter\Farm\cookingfireplank01.nif You might be able to use NifSkope to combine one of those above with a fire animation such as from one of the following: Meshes\Fire\fireopenlarge.nifMeshes\Fire\fireopenmedium.nifMeshes\Fire\fireopensmall.nif If turned into a clutter item with collision, you may be able to physically place the campfire where ever you like. To add actual light to the effect, you'd need to do a bit more work. ;) LHammonds
Fnorkus
Well, I knew of those, and if you read the description I have given, It's not really what I am looking for. I'll post a picture so that you get a clearer view. http://www.londonderrynh.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/20070626campfire-22.gif I know the image is kinda silly, but it was the best I could find. Use NifSkope to copy several log branches into a single NIF, rotate and size them around how you'd lay them in a campfire and copy the fire animation onto it. It might not be optimum but I think it could be done without knowing how to create models in a 3D modeling program and applying textures to them. Fnorkus
Okay, this might sound as a stupid question, but, what IS NifSkope? And how do I use it?
Pronam
A graphical program that allows you to open NIF files, view their contents, edit them, and write them back out again. You can use it to quickly make changes to specific properties of a NIF file such as changing the texture, adding translucency, and more. A 3D view of the contents of the NIF file allows you to preview your changes instantly. Nifskope searchNifskope
