VergilPrime
Im sorry, dont take this as harsh as it sounds, I love the game, its the most complex, twisted, fun game ive ever played besides maybe Metal Gear Solid but heres my problem. I seriosly think the code is held together by a thin sheet of peanut butter. First play, Xbox 360, played along till the part where Dad fubars the computer at Project Purity and kills himself and Autumn. Couldnt get back out of the Jefferson Memorial Rotunda because the game wouldnt load the giftshop cell. STARTED OVER Second play, made it just as far, same problem. STARTED OVER Third play, made it to Megaton, Moriarty missing, found his marker in a riverbet a few miles north. Got my money back. Fourth play on the PC, made it to Rivet City, game crashed just after my only save, STARTED OVER Fifth play made it to Little Lamplight, My character dissapeared permanently when using 3rd person. To avoid further corruption STARTED OVER Sixth play, GOT THE GECK! Talked the Enclave Pres. out of being a douche, made it a mile away from the exploding enclave base. Impressive. Game froze. Tried to load last save, when I did I was back at Vault 101 with no items or equipment, all my stats reset and all my quests reset. Seventh play, made it about halfway from GNR to Rivet City, made 3 saves just in case. One resets to Vault 101, one crashes on the loading screen and one tells me it cant load because it was saved on an older version (Fallout 3 version -1) I can not go through vault 101 1 more time. I feel more helpless than the male without a father stuck in the vault with the puppets. Someone tell me why i should keep trying? Do the gods of Fallout just seriously hate my guts? Tony the Wookie
I've played through twice on my 360 and twice on my PC and havn't once had any sort of problems... Honestly, now that I think about it, I don't even think the game has ever even froze up or anything on me exept when I was experementing with my mods and stuff... mooncarver
yeah, sometimes fallout seems like an expanded version of tranquility lane: you love the exciting, crazy world around you, but sudden torment never ceases to exist. i'm dealing with this simply by cursing one or two times and then restarting this damn thing again, although i've never encountered gamebreaking bugs like you have, only immersion breaking ctd's. VergilPrime
Seriously? Neither one of you have had ONE game breaking glitch? Thats really weird, as many as ive had. My friend cant even run the game, it CTD as soon as he tries to load a new game. Quests seem to fall apart as im doing them, the only vault I managed to get through without some type of bug was Vault 106, course thats the hallucination vault so i wouldnt really know if something did go wrong. Have i mentiones the protectrons? Their arms are all floating like 3 feet away from them. When they die they keep getting back up, moving a few paces and then falling over again. Its scary as HELL! I noticed every magazine or reveiw show in the world gave Fallout3 a 10 out of 10, im guessing they were playing on some beasty machines or something? Cause this many glitches brings it down to a 5 for me.
gsmanners
I've gone through all the troubleshooting guides and even reinstalled my system. I have updated drivers, the works. I can play *anything* else no problem at all. So, I don't believe anyone when they say they "don't have problems." That's an absolute lie. This game is FUBAR. People who say that are either trolling, shilling for Bethesda, or haven't actually played the game more than an hour or two. I know this is an absolute fact because I happen to know a number of other people IRL who have this game too, and it's the exact same situation as me: at least two or three crashes a week (if you play the game for only an hour a day), and at least one hard freeze a week. Nagaoka
You are one extremely unlucky person. Yeah the game glitches a lot and a lot of people have trouble with it crashing due to whatever problems, but you shouldn't have had THAT many game breaking experiences. The thing with Moriarty disappearing is common. It occurs when you talk to Silver and say you'll tell him she's gone before you've talked to Moriarty. You don't need him to move on in the game though. This is yet another reason why the PC version is better to have than the xbox version. You can fix your own glitches. Moriarty gone? Teleport him back where he needs to be. Door to Knick Knack's shop locked when it shouldn't be? Unlock it via console. Stuff like that. The Fallout wiki is good to go to for finding out whether problems you're experiencing are common glitches found in the game too.
hubba12
... So, I don't believe anyone when they say they "don't have problems." That's an absolute lie. ...I don't have problems. [speich. 477 - Armin, Zitadelle - Labor, 216.09.10.fos] average gametime per session: about 4 hours Only glitches for me: - V.A.T.S. post 1.1 - companions get "stuck in combat" from time to time CTDs - hardly. Hardlocks - never.

It is 100% true, I have done a total of 4 files from start to finish without haveing gamebreaking glitches or CTD (I've had small things like floating items or dogs getting stuck in rocks, but nothing big) And I am 100% certain that I do not work for Bethesda, I am not trolling, and I have played the game for more than two hours... I have nothing to gain by lying about anything... much the same way you have nothing to gain by calling my a lier for absolutly no reason. But honestly, I don't care what you want to believe, it doesn't bother me one way or the other. Good day to you, and good luck with your game
