halon1
I understand the construction set but I was to broaden my horizen over to modeling. I am planning on attemping to make a large mod, but I need to know what tools i need to model. I have seen some lists but they seem to vary. I need tools to edit and create meshes and models, textures and what ever else I might need. Please list useful tools and if possible a description of what they do. LHammonds
Well, I will assume your budget is $0.00 just like mine. ;) Blender is THE tool to use for Oblivion modeling on a budget. Blender will let you create the model, UV Map, collision models, animations and apply the textures to export a final NIF file. You will also need NifSkope which is bundled in the Blender package uploaded here at the Nexus. To create the textures, you will need an image editor such as Paint.NET or GIMP. Both of these tools can export to DDS format. You will also need to create Normal Maps to go along with the textures and GIMP can do that as well. LHammonds
I added that NifSkope line immediately after submitting my post. It just so happen that the OP asked about NifSkope after he read my unedited version which was all of about 60 seconds old. hehehe.
