AirtightSpring3
I have tried to install the Skyrim Memory Patch the the SKSE Alpha Way as shown in this video by Gopher, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37xAMUQc1oY. I have created my SKSE.ini file but for some reason I still crash at 256mb in the first block, instead of 512mb in the first block which it should be doing now. Any help would be much appreciated as I have spent many hours over the last few days trying to get this patch to work so I can run Skyrim without worrying about ctds as much. Thank you for any assistance you can give. - AirtightSpring3
Deleted31005User
I don't use the alpha build but I can say its working for me, so I suggest you give this a try: 1. Get Skyrim Script Extender (NOT the alpha build, take Current build 1.6.16)http://skse.silverlock.org/You NEED this or otherwise the following will not work.3. Get Memory Blocks Loghttp://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50471/?You can check the exact amount of memory being used with this.4. Get SSME - Skyrim Startup Memory Editorhttp://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305/?This will allocate more memory to the first 256MB memory block, I have mine set on 512MB which is done automatically upon installing this mod.All you need to do is drop the files in the right folder and your done, no tweeking or anything, super easy. AirtightSpring3
Thanks for the information, I am just wondering how can I uninstall SKSE safely. I accidentally screwed up my game earlier and had to do a complete reinstall, so is there anything I need to do to uninstall SKSE besides deleting SKSE files and then installing the 1.6.16 ones. Also, should I use the installer or do a manual install for SKSE?
Deleted31005User
I always manually install everything and keep the original zip files stored somewhere so I know where the files are located. As for uninstalling, I have no idea, don't the new files overwrite the old files anyway? I suggest you read the description and instructions on the skse website and mod pages for that. Edited April 6, 2014 by Guest
AirtightSpring3
Thank you very much for the help, I was able to get it installed and working properly. I just tested it as Gopher did in his video and got very successful results. Now hopefully I can get back to playing/modding Skyrim as well as I can.
