Senrii
Hello! I have a question regarding Oblivion: it runs slow. It's really annoying, because when I start a fight it's even slower. I don't know why, because I think my computer isn't extremely slow. Specs are: Intel Pentium M Processor 1700MHz 1536 MB RAM ATI Mobility RADEON 9600/9700 (128mb) I admit it isn't top of the art, but isn't super slow either, right? And a game like Half Life 2 (which isn't the most ugly one) runs perfectly. I've already tried some performance mods, like Operation Optimization (which doesn't do anything, it seems) and Streamline. Streamline sometimes causes better FPS (indoors) but in the overworld I have massive FPS slowdowns. And that's all because the grass, I think. On default I have turned off grass, but Streamline turns it one again. I already installed some mods which make the grass less hard on FPS, but still no success. So my question is, is there a way to turn grass OFF in Streamline? I already looked into the cfg and readme, but it doesn't say anything about turning it off. Any other mods which'll improve performance are appreciated too. Thanks! :) (BTW, I already tried Oldblivion, but with Oldblivion you can't run OBSE (right?) so neither can I run mods which use OBSE)
Nexus Set
I'm afraid your processor isn't up to the minimum requirement for playing Oblivion and your video RAM is just minimum. Minimum System Requirements * Windows XP 64-bit, Windows XP, Windows 2000 * 2 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor * 512 MB System RAM * 4.6 GB free hard disk space * 128 MB Direct3D compatible video card and DirectX 9.0 compatible driver; * 8x DVD-ROM drive * DirectX 9.0c (included) * DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card * Keyboard, Mouse Note: The game runs on 256 MB System RAM but is hardly playable.Source: UESP Also you can check your performance with this online analysis --> Can you run it? ericazwel
Your computer may not be able to handle Oblivion. Here are the minimum and suggested system requirements to run Oblivion: The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion System Requirements Recommended: * 3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor * 1 GB System RAM * ATI X800 series, Nvidia GeForce 6800 series, or higher video card Minimum System Requirements: * Windows XP * 512MB System RAM * 2 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor * 128MB Direct3D compatible video card I run on a 2 GHZ machine with a 512 MB video card and 2 GB ram and I have some performance issues despite using performance enhancing mods. Not game breaking, fortunately.
Senrii
Ah ok, thanks for your help. Problem solved. But not the way I hoped it would... Now I bought the game for nothing =\
