NDG474
After installing a mod (Foes Reworked FWE edition) I am now getting an annoying warning when using the geck. Here's the msg:http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/2373/geckwarningmsg.th.png Is this going to cause any problems when creating mods?If so what can I do to fix it? Otherwise, how do I get rid of the message?
BadPenney
That mod may have been mastered even if its extension still reads as an .esp. If GECK is loading it as a default master the way that it does with fallout3.esm then it would likely influence the operation of your mod. You must be certain what source files are being used for your mod and limit them only to the ones that you intend to use.
csb
Get FO3Edit by ElminsterAu and get Miax's guide on using it (a search for FO3Edit will turn up both). Especially read the section on Master Restore Mode (and Master Update Mode). An esp can get its internal flag set to ESM (and the error seems to indicate this) and needs to be reset. As an FYI, Fallout3 doesn't really look at the mod extension, it looks for this internal flag to sort out masters/plug-ins and building references. As for how it happens ... it is easy for a modder to run Master Update on an .esp and then forget to run Master Restore before archiving it for distribution. There are other things that can contribute as well, such as having another .esp reference that .esp as its master. Hope this helps.
