Marogthor
So usually, I'd go about thirty or twenty minutes of playing without a crash. Now, it's crashing every thirty seconds or so and I have to replay the same part over and over. Right now, I'm nearing the GNR building but not in the plaza yet. I'm running a good number of mods, but I've even tried disabling a few of them in spite of the fact that they were all working before. I can't play with the game in this state currently. M48A5
Since you could only play for twenty or thirty minutes without a crash, you have a problem with either your load order, installation location or equipment. More information is needed before anyone can even venture a guess as to the cause of the crash. You would need to post your load order and dxdiag (in a spoiler tab), along with the path to the game. Marogthor
Well, usually I download the mod and updates if it has it, add them into FOMM, then activate it. I'm guessing now that I've been doing it terribly, horribly wrong.
M48A5
Load order, for example:Fallout3.esmAnchorage.esmThePitt.esmBrokenSteel.esmetc.etc.This can be obtained by using the "Export or Copy to clipboard" function under the "Load Order" button in FOMM. Install path, for example: C:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout3\Fallout3.exe
Marogthor
How do I change the load order once they're in FOMM?
M48A5
Use B.O.S.S. to set your load order. http://boss-developers.github.io/ You can also left click and hold, then drag the file to the location you choose and release (drag 'n drop),
Marogthor
Yeah, I don't know how this thing works at all. ._. Could this also fix the mesh issues I was having on my other post? Edited April 8, 2014 by Marogthor
M48A5
Yeah, I don't know how this thing works at all. ._. Could this also fix the mesh issues I was having on my other post? That is doubtful. If you are getting the missing mesh symbol, "!" surrounded by a translucent red box, that is from a mesh not installed or installed in the wrong place. If you do not know how to use BOSS or how to drag and drop in FOMM, I suggest you do a lot more research to learn how to use your computer and the programs that it runs. M48A5
How often does Fallout 3 typically freeze or crash for you?If I am just playing the game and not adding or deleting mods or changing my companions armor for screen shots, usually just once during a game session. The crash reminds me that I haven't saved in a while and I need to save more often. Once I start saving every 10-15 mins, I play all night without a crash.
