Oblivion In Virtual Reallity

Backstory: In a lab in Germany, thehy are currently laying the ground work of the future, a neurological exhilerator with a type of Induced SPS state, basically meaning that it causes a type of super ultimate king of realistic dreams, aka virtual reality. The original plan for this V.R. machine was to give soldiers first hand combat experience in a type of alterconciensness and once perfected, will be able not only to play video games on this, once it reaches public market, but it will speed up your neurological ability to a 1minute per hour scale. Imagine playing the equivalent of 5 hous of video games in only five minutes, now we truly are living in the sci fi age! (Sweetness!) The system os far from perfected, but they plan to release it to the public ($$$)

 

BETHESDA + V.A.= I heard a rumor that when the new v.a. system comes out, bethesda may release a converted copy of some of their more popular games, which would include at least some members of the elderscrolls saga

 

My questions are:

 

1) How would this affect the way you previously chose to play

2) which mods would you keep and what mods would you see "Oh hell no" to

3) Would this affect your characters looks and apearance

4) WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS WHOLE THING? CRAZY OR GENIUS?

 

and just some overalll comments and questions. I for one think it would be SWEET!!!

Yup; i think the Generation of Humanity which has perfectly working holodecks for all members for the Species will be the last generation of humans...

 

But at least we will go out in Style, doing something that we like until the end, not like every other extinct Species on the Planet.

 

People who like having real Children will have a hard time searching for someone who isn't enthralled. But then again, who would want real children? If you have a simulation that seems to be so real that you have no chance of knowing the Difference between the real thing and the Simulation because the only thing telling you about the very concept of "real" is the same thing that tells you how realistic the Simulation is; your Brain.

 

 

That would be like the "Matrix"; I think if the Machines where to develop something to reintegrate People into the Virtual World they could release all the Humans, then move away to some Continent to setup the following Situation:

Humans live in this Part of the Planet, Machines somewhere else. Machines would issue a standing offer to every human being that they could got there to be integrated into the virtual world whenever they want.

 

Within ten Generations, there would be no human left living outside the Matrix.

 

Maybe something like that already happened in the matrix universe.

What a great idea.The thought of being able to live a life full of combat,love,sex and exploration would interest me to no end.

 

What a great way to relax after a hard day at work, go home,kill some bad guys and monsters,hit the local pub, pound a few and then chase the wenches...... :biggrin:

sheesh, what can i say....that would be my dreams comming ture. It would be super-duper-mega-awesome (who care of the side effects that would probably couse schizophrenia or maybe some other mental disorder. The "time bending" thing sounds the best. I could be able to play Oblivion durring the breaks in school ;D

As for the gaming aspect i would most defenetly change my chat's apperance to be more like me....but with more muscles thehehehe :)

I think this would be especially interesting if they could figure out how to simulate pain. Not "to scale" pain, of course- getting stabbed in the stomach isn't fun- but perhaps a slight burning feeling or something like a pinch. People would learn how to play better, I think. Or maybe not.. :confused:

Anyways, I think this would be life-changing, like everyone else said. However, unlike what some of you said, I don't believe the whole world will have this. Third-world countries would be left out- they don't have the resources to acquire these!

To answer the questions:

1.) I would play more conservatively. Also, I would be quite a bit more scared- the only thing that stops me from freaking out in dark ruins with a lot of enemies is the fact that there's a screen!

2.) I would keep everything but the rather scary stuff- I'm a bit of a wimp. :unsure:

3.) Maybe, I don't know. It seems like, if it's really like a dream, you wouldn't be able to switch from 1st to 3rd person- which means you wouldn't see yourself. Although, I have had dreams in third person.

4.) Both!

There's no doubt in my mind that this sort of thing will one day happen. First, video games. Then the internet. Then instant communication across the globe. Then virtual reality instantly across the globe. Then quantum computers. Then a Hive Mind.

 

 

But I'm not seeing it for Oblivion.

 

 

 

But the first thing I would do if it was for Oblivion would be to run to the very edge of the map and jump off the last solid piece of ground, through the LOD land, and smack right unto the brown square that generates under it to catch you.

Yes but what I find more than just awsome about this is the 1 minute = 1 hour ratio, now imagine just how much time on

average how much time of game play most of you have under you belts, I have atleast 900 hours, Probably much more, times that by 60 and thats 54, 000 hours, devide that by 24 and you have 2250 days devide that by 365 and well, that's about 5 years,

 

(I didn't actually calculate that one, will some one double check,)

 

 

 

THAT"S 5 YEARS EXTRA ON MY LIFE SPAN!!!!!

 

AND THAT'S NOT TO SAY

that once the 1m = 1H scale is perfected, they will most likely push the bar to 1 S = 1 H

 

IT WILL BE LIKE LIVING 60 TIMES LONGER OR 3600 TIMES LONGER (IF THE SECOND SCALE IS SUCCESSFULL) AND WE WILL NOT BE REALLY OLD PRUNES THAT WOULD BE AWSOME!!!!!

 

But that is just my oppinion, I kind of wouldn't mind getting awy now, I have the N1H1 virus and am quarantined for about a week!!! IT SUCKS ASS!!!!! :wallbash:
