liquidjesus
Hiya gents I have the same problem as posted HERE. Anyway, after going through Rivet City, I enslaved Flak and returned to Paradise Falls. I got in it for the 1st time, met Eulogy Jones and clover, saved and quit the game. Everything was working fine, aparently. 2 days later, I start the game again and plugged in a new keyboard that has the print screen button (i was using a Mac keyboard that doesn't have the prnt scrn function), pressed print screen and got the screen shot. I opened the pipboy (to change the attire options) and "not-voila!" there's no pipboy anymore, although the background behaves as if the damn thing was there.I doubt that the keyboard swap caused this issue, but I'm trying to trace my steps as accuratelly as possible.I quit the game and unchecked the newest mods in the FOMM. I loaded up the game with a previous save (before I installed "clover hire no-karma", "vault87 fix", "amata companion", "sidney companion", "star paladin cross variety", "better brahmin" and "king companion") and the pipboy was working fine. I made a fresh save of that same save. I then loaded the save at paradise falls and the pipboy was displaying normally. I quit the game and restarted, loaded up the paradise falls save again and now the pipboy was missing. I have about 70 mods installed but no pipboy mods. I think that the Amata companion is a good candidate for problems, only because amata also has a pipboy. Also, Fellout has a pipboy pluggin, but it has never given me any problems before. Other than that IDK. Thanks in advance for reading. I hope this information is useful for anybody out there with a similar problem. I included (hopefuly) a small .txt file with my FOMM load order. Some of the newest files that I added to the load order end in "...". that means that I don't know the exact name of the file, but they go in the order displayed in my text. Also, I play with all mods activated. Why is this happening? I can't find a satisfactory explanation or MO to stop this from happening. I believe it's some setting that defaults to no-pipboy. I looked on the fallout3.ini and fallout_prefs.ini but found nothing that seemed suspicious (I made a backup of the .ini file before installing any mods and compared it to the new .ini after installation and found no differences, at least relating to pipboy entries). phoneyLogic
Seems to me that there is a mod which requires a Pipboy Mod.Just find out which Mod it is...Have you already tried to uncheck all your Mods and to switch of the ArchiveInvalidation? I unchecked all mods except the DLCs and everything seemed normal. I then checked all remaining mods - except the newest installed (the ones with the "..." in my txt file) - and it worked. I quit and restarted and the damn pipboy was gone again!I didn't try the archiveinvalithingy yet. Have to go home and fire it up to try. BTW, can anybody see any aparent conflicts with the FOMM load order? Do you think this pipboy thing would display as a conflict in the FO3EDIT? liquidjesus
I tried starting the game with archiveinvalidation invalidated turned off and it didn't work. The pipboy was still missing.I modded-up a patch in FO3edit and loaded up the save in Paradise Falls and the PB was still missing.I loaded previous saves and was able to make it work, with the patch I made in FO3edit turned on. I dunno what I did to make it work though! So it's not exectly a solution per se...I guess I need more game testing. Can only go back tomorow night, I hope.
