DagonTheranis
I used to think I was quite a good actor, then a guy who has no emotions got more lines than me and a more important role in our club play. Can anyone give me some acting advice?
TheCalliton
even when your backstage, BE the character. when acting, you do not exist... only the character in soviet acting, character plays you (hehe, just being funny) its all training, practice with friends. Pronam
There are a lot of reasons why people are picked for a role, but that put aside. Indeed like calliton said, when you're on you're not yourself you try to live in and as the character. Not the way how you'd like the character to be, but how it really is. How would your character respond to things. etc. and..(Wow, calliton is right too often!) practice makes perfect.

dezdimona
What Casting Directors are Looking ForYou may encounter this phrase from casting directors more than once in your career: "I'll know what I want when I see it." One thing is for sure: They're not looking for a scene-stealer. They're not looking for a prima dona. Chances are, they want chemistry within their cast. They need to see that you're a team player, someone who listens, is respectful of others, and ultimately brings more to the team. Showing casting directors and fellow actors that you can work with them is far more valuable than showing them up.copyright: acting tips
Deleted54170User
What play are you in?What character are you? If you would like to have a little fun. Type your characters' words and let us play a part to see if we can become your cohorts in the play.

Birrii
Try to actually MEAN it. Be able to show: "I'm serious right now" (OK, except if we are talking about comedy here). Convert yourself into that character.:)

Can anyone give me some acting advice? That's a sad note. You still have you. To be real that part never changes. To act like someone else is the challenge.
