das007
So I may sound like a moron asking this question, but its my first post here, so that is a requirement. Anyway, on to my question... I bought Fallout GOTY edition for the PC recently because I played the regular version on my xbox, which died (RIP), and LOVED it to death. When I installed it there was no desktop icon or folder in my start menu. I went to the programs folder and created a shortcut, but it still is bothering me that there is no icon or folder. My question is why? Did I do anything wrong or is this something that Bethesda did to annoy us? BTW my system specs are 2 gb of ram300 gb Hard driveIntel Core Duo 2.6 ghzATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870Vista x64 The game runs perfectly, but the lack of an icon and start menu folder is just annoying me for some reason. So it is a pretty trivial issue, but I still want that icon. Anyway, thanks!
phoneyLogic
That's not really a moron question :P Afaik Fallout does not create a desktop shortcut, but there should be a Start menu folder. ( <Start menu> \ Bethesda \ Fallout 3 ) Have you disabled your security software during the install? You could try to reinstall the game from HD. Just copy all the files from your DVD to the Hard Disk. But since your game is running fine, I would think a minute about it :D and welcome to the forums 8)
