TES4Files Packager 8.5.1.1

I used to love that program and use it a lot, but now it has failed me. I use it to gather up all the meshes and textures to package a mod for upload, but now there is one texture in a mod that it refuses to package. I have to manually add it in. I have tried about four times, and even changed my directory trees. The texture it refuses to find and package is a new texture for a glass helmet which works perfectly in the mod.

Is there some specific directory structure I must use if I want TES4Files Packager to do it's job?

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Anyone have any helpful tips for mesh and texture packaging?

I don't think many people use it, although I know it's a useful program. Especially the fix-Nif tool. I put things in manually all the time, but who am I ;D. Others use OBMM or BSAC to get in in a .omod or .bsa immediately if things get large.

Was your error from a retexture (not a new item.)? Tes4Files doesn't accept that...

I use TES4Files for just about every mod I release and do not have problems with it.

There are, however, circumstances that must be worked around where it is impossible for any automation program to figure out...such as texture replacers as mentioned above and several other scenarios where files are not attached or referenced in the plugin.

Read the NOTES section of this article I created a while back: How To Prep Mod Files Using TES4Files

MentalElf made it possible for you to add files into a reference file that the program cannot detect so that they will be included each time you run the program. Check his documentation for how to create and use that file.

I know of no other program that even comes close to what this program does.

I installed and used it today. You're supposed to double click it from where you would usually extract it into the folder. That's what I did and it started doing it's thing. It tells you when it's finished. I copied the main folder onto my desktop. All you have to do is double click the icon and it does the work. I don't think you installed it right. Try taking it out of your Oblivion folder and reinstalling it. I don't think it has to go into the Oblivion folder. At least I didn't do it that way and it worked. I guess you could somehow if you wanted to but I have no idea where you would put it.

I hope this helps a little.
