How to preserve DLC for a fresh install?

Hey all,

Before I dive into the massive mod world of FO3, I'd like to start with a fresh install. From what I've read on the boards here it seems that I should do the following:

1. Uninstall the game. Reboot.

2. Install game. Reboot?

3. Update to 1.7. Reboot?

4. Install all DLC's using G4WL Disabler.

5. Install FOOK and FOSE (having read extensively how to install and use them) and start having fun!

The only hitch is I'm not sure how many files comprise the DLC content, where they're located, and how I can be sure to preserve them without the rather large nightmare of trying to re-download them through the digital cluster*uck that is the online store.

I'd appreciate any tips or links you may have!

The DLCs are generally comprised of 1 .esm file and 2 .bsa files (Main & Sounds) and their titles are pretty self explanatory so you will know what they are when you see them. Just make copies of them or move them to a separate folder before you uninstall Fallout 3. If you haven't moved them to your Fallout 3/Data folder yet, you can find them in your G4WL folder. The path should look something like C:/Program Files/ Microsoft/Games for Windows Live , but don't quote me on that because I haven't been in that folder in a long time and am not at home so I can't check. If I'm wrong and someone else can clarify where the G4WL folder is, please speak up.

This is where not using GfWL and having everything in your Data folder really comes in handy:

Then backup the following files:

Data:

Anchorage.esm
Anchorage - Main.bsa
Anchorage - Sounds.bsa
BrokenSteel.esm
BrokenSteel - Main.bsa
BrokenSteel - Sounds.bsa
PointLookout.esm
PointLookout - Main.bsa
PointLookout - Sounds.bsa
ThePitt.esm
ThePitt - Main.bsa
ThePitt - Sounds.bsa
Zeta.esm
Zeta - Main.bsa
Zeta - Sounds.bsa

Data/Video:

2 weeks later.bik
B09.bik
B27.bik
B28.bik
B29.bik

Thanks for elaborating GSManners, I forgot about the cutscenes.

Once you have reinstalled your game Xenobuzz, just place the above files into your Fallout 3/Data and Fallout 3/Data/Videos folders. Easy peasy.
